Oh Baty that is hysterical!!! I bet you never enjoyed a red light so much!!!!
Last time I was out of town too, so my family did the midnight party w/o me. I made my friends drive me to Wal-Mart first thing in the morning and I bought it easily and quickly. I snuck in the bathroom at the hotel that night and read some of it! They thought I was nuts... but I am, so that's OK. (thanks xccoach for the encouragement!) |

QUOTE I snuck in the bathroom at the hotel that night and read some of it! They thought I was nuts... but I am, so that's OK. I think we all get a little crazy when the books come out. I know personally I just read it until I finish. In the car on the way home from buying it, while I'm eating or cooking. I remember with HBP, I asked mum to let me read it at the dinner table and she suprisingly said yes. I even stayed home from school I think it was when OOTP was released to finish it. So you're not alone Molly! |

I will probably go later on in the day i wouldnt want to go when the crowd is all there ill have to wait for ages.
Ive only gone once when the doors opened and i had a bad experience from having to wait there with a bunch of people in the rain to finally going in and realising there was nothing special going on it was a pointless experience. And another reason i dont want to go with the giant crowd is there was this kid who was standing there reading the last few chapters of the book (HBP) and then he screams to his mother "MUM DUMBLEDORE DIES...DUMBLEDORE DIES...WOW EVERYONE LOOK DUMBLEDORE DIES" so he pretty much spoiled the ending for many, many people. hey it gets worse then that aswell, then his mother asks who kills dumbledore and the stupid kid starts flicking the pages and i was just trying to block my ears and get to the counter but before i could i hear the stupid little kid screaming "SNAPE KILLS DUMBLEDORE...SNAPE KILLS DUMBLEDORE" so that was my one and only experience of getting a HP book when it first came out. I mean i might go since its the final book and there will be no more but im not sure if anything special is going to happen. |

QUOTE(Hermione@12 @ Feb 3 2007, 01:35 AM) Why is it that whenever I'm sure of something something else pops up?! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) My mom told me that she ordered the book just now and I was sooooo suprised! Wow! I wonder why they're selling it so cheap. I was suprised when they said they were selling it for $13 and then I found out they were selling it for $18. Hmmm...I wonder what happened? Well, actually, I guess it makes sense if you're lucky enough to have pre-ordered it. They are selling it that cheap because they got to know the releaseday, and want to celebrate it. So I will get my copy for £15.38. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) This is what they wrote about it: "Daily Prophet newsflash! As you've already reserved your copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, we're delighted to tell you that the publication date has been announced, 21st July 2007. To celebrate, we've lowered our price to £8.99, and under our pre-order price protection policy, you'll automatically benefit from this magical, new, lower price. It's muggletastic, and you don't have to do anything but wait for the book to be delivered to your door (by owl, Floo Network, or otherwise) on the day of release!*" And baty, the red light-story was fun to read! It's kinda cool to hear that other people asks if you're reading Harry Potter. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Right now with the price being £8.99 it will cost me $18.00 American money, plus the cost of shipping. Which is about what it will cost in the States. Though some places are advertising it for $14.99.

A variation of the red light story:
When my family flew home after we bought "the last" OOP book in Indianapolis, the flight attendant on our flight commented that she was surprised to see so many adults reading a children's book. She said that all the flights since the book came out were full of grown-ups reading the book. They didn't watch the video entertainment on the plane. They weren't interested in the meals. Just wanted to read. Then she asked me, "Is it really that good a series?" My private answer -- the one I wished I could have said out loud -- was, "Duh! If so many of your passengers are reading it, get a clue!" But I gave a nice, polite answer. Something like, "Oh, yes. Excellent. Brilliant." Then I went back to reading. |

Hmmm...those prices are pretty low. I guess the sellers love Harry potter, too! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Hmmm...maybe you could order it online. I think it's cheaper. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) It's definitely cheaper in London and the States, but I don't know about where you live.

I'm gonna try to go to one of those midnight sellings for the Harry Potter Book. I've never been to one of them and I think it may be some fun.

It's really fun! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Remember to line up early, though, because by exactly 12:00 there were about 300 people in line. Oh yeah...and have fun!
