J.K. Rowling announced quite some time ago, that the final word in the 7th book, the last would be "scar". So I think it would be kind of fun to try to guess what the last sentence would be. The reason for puting this here rather in games is it might give clues unknown to people just starting the books. Such as the deaths of Sirius, Dumbledore, Harry and Ginny getting together.

My guess...
Harry relaxed holding Ginny close; happiness infused his entire being, knowing that he would never again feel pain from his scar.

although the war was over for quite some time Harry knew he would always be reminded of it by his scar.

not good? well, I'm not so much of a writer....

other question: if the last word was in fact 'scar', wouldn't that increase the chances of Harry staying alive?

eeeer, i cannot imagine a last sentence...
So is it true, then, that the last word will be scar? I thought it was just a rumour, is this in any interview, or was this information in JKR's site?
I'm not thinking that you're lying, of course, i'd just like to see what she said, because i thought, as I said that it was just a rumour.

I wouldn't want the book to end so abruptly. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) My sentence?

Ginny touched Harry's forehead where had once been his scar.

Why does everyone think that Harry and Ginny will live happily ever after? I mean just because Harry and Ginny went out does that mean they will live with eachother get married etc?
Relationships dont always work out perfectly i think Harry and Ginny will take their seperate ways.
Oh about the sentence um i have no idea but here goes

"The boy looked just like his mother, except he had his fathers scar, he had Harry's scar."

um alright thats the most stupedist thing ive ever written dont laugh.

It doesnt really say when the final battle occurs it could happen 20 years after harry leaves school(i highly doubt it though) I was thinking the final chapter could be a few years after harry and voldemort duel and harry could have found someone he likes settled down etc etc.

Well first off, JK said it was quit obvious from the beginning who'd be paired up, and so it is pretty much assumed that it will be Ron/Hermione, Harry/Ginny. I think that is a given.

So, that is probably why everyone thinks it's Harry/Ginny. Does it mean that they will live happily ever after? Now a days nothing is forever, well it seems that way, but for now let's just keep it for the present ending, which if they all live, it looks like the pairing I mentioned.

Also with the Harry/Ginny pairing, I also believe that this is what many are hoping will happen. I am one who is in this pairing. Not all want this, but many do. It's all in the eye of the beholder.

Now as for the last word being Scar... JK, I don't believe, has ever said the last word was Scar. I believe it is just a rumor that was started long ago, but... if anyone has proof that JK said it give us a link or the interview that is was in so we all can enjoy it.

Oh sorry I didnt know that, I found that out just now (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
But did she say that the relationships will stay like that by the end of the book? because if she did then I wouldnt think Ron, Hermione, Harry and Ginny will die.

EDIT : If the Scar is a connection between V and Harry then if V dies wouldnt the scar vanish to because Harry will no longer be connected?

Yes, that as maybe, but DD himself said that scars cannot go, he also mentions his scar above his knee which is a map of the london underground- but thats neither here nor there, i reckon the scar could be metaphorical and so maybe it has othing to do with Harrys, maybe if it is to do with Harry it could say something like:

"He lay relaxed knowing that he would not ever be troubled again by his scar."

or if it is metaphorical,

"The wizard lay among the dead, obvious yet nothing almost like a mortal scar."

Anno rubbish but you get the idea.....

So Harry married Queen Cadellia, and she knew he would always be true to her by the look of his scar.

The body lay on the ground, smoldering, known only by its scar.

Alright well I heard this before on some other forum I think, if it was from you I am very sorry but I thought that it was perfect.

"Ginny and Harry's kid were running around in the yard when one fell on a rock, Harry said, 'Ouch, that will leave a scar.'"
I dont know why, I just thought that would be perfect.

That's kind of confusing. Okay, we still have no proof that Jo really said that, but this is fun, anyway.

It was a hot day and when Harry reached up to wipe his forehead, he found that there was no more scar.
