well, what would you do? we all think where we are going to preorder it (many already preordered it in Amazon), if we are going to the bookshop that midnight or the next day (yeah, of course, lie to me) Or who are going with us...
but it's not that easy... What if something happens and you cannot go?
I'm planning to go with two friends, one of them will buy the UK edition and the other one and I will buy the scholastic edition. We know where we want to buy it. We know at what time we'll meet and where we'll go after that, to read the book together. We know that the next day I must go to the sinagogue, so we'll go together (those are friends!!!)
we have all planned. I also thought about preparing them a nice breakfast.
But, NOT ACCEPTABLE!!! You Should Know Better!!! happens...
I am supposed to go to a camping day with the Youth group (the go to the siangogue where I work) And i cannot say no, because I'm working as a Rabbi there (well, i'm not a rabbi yet but i can work, i'm still a seminarist)
well, what's the problem, you are wondering...
that stupid camping day will be on July 20th, yes you got it!!!!!
I only can do two things:
pray so they'll decide another date for the camping
or cry, just cry...
so, what would you do?

Well, I won't get it on the 21st, because we don't get snailmail on Saturdays in Sweden... So I'm going to nag Amazon.co.uk about getting it on the 20th, or 23rd, because it says on my account that delivery estimate is between 24th and 26th. I don't really like that...

But I'm still going to spend my time here until I get my copy, and also moderate the board (but not in the Deathly Hallows-section though, so someone else has to take care of that part), so I hope no one will spoil the book for me then! Well, I have pre-ordered it, and I am definetley going to line up, (yes Baty, I chose to line up, rather than go to the local supermarket) for the book, but of course, something had to spoil my perfect day. I have my Club Netball games on Saturday, and there I was, praying that we will have a bye on July 21st, but nope, it's still scheduled for 11:00, which means I have to leave at 9:30!!! But I am still going to read as much as I can in the car (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I will be here Nina, unless one of my kids die, then I won't be back to moderate. I don't want to see discussions on how they died. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/crying.gif)

Actually Nina, I'm pretty sure that Dij is going to shut down the Boards for a few days before the release and wait until one of us is finished and then open them back up to avoid the same situation that occurred with HBP.

In my case, I'm planning a full HP day with the family. We're going to go see OOTP, go out to dinner and then go to the party and get my book. There is nothing that is going to stop me. Even if we have a hurricane coming through, I'll call to make sure the store is still open (it is a bit of a drive to the city) and if it is I'm getting my book.

Oh, thank god! I will be forever grateful if Dij closes the site for a few days! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

In other words... You Don't Say It!!! You know there is now swearing is allowed on these boards, there are other ways to phrase it, and substituting * to swear is not acceptable. You know the rules you've been around too long not to know.

*breathes out* What would I do if I couldn't get the book the day it comes out?
*flashes to me bawling my eyes out and running around the house screaming and yelling*

I would not be happy at all. I'm one of those people who will get the book at 9:01 (when it comes out here) and not put it down until I am finished. Who needs food or drink?

Ouch, that sounds very threatening. Be nicer to your mom. Remember, she put you into this world. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)

Hehe. I know! But you see, that won't happen. Not in my case. What's the old slogan for the USPS? "Come rain, snow, sleet or hail, nothing will keep us down"? Something like that anyway. Nope, NOTHING is keeping me from getting that book at Midnight. Besides, I've got somebody relying on me to get it read quickly, so I can't let anything keep me away. nice to read the different reactions, and sorry about all the swearing but... They told me not to go to pick my book! Do they hate me? no, they don't, they just don't care about Pootteuphoria (new word, you like it?)
Anyway, I think that, after all, I'll be able to pick my book. And no one will stop me. Not even them.

I read about the spoiler policy, and I agree so much with you. But for one thing. I would not give second chances. My motto in this case would be: 'You spoil the book, and I spoil you head'. Extremist? Yes, call it the Potteuphoria.

Well.... I don't know. I guess I would try to get it A.S.A.P. afterwards, but its not the end of the world. I usually pick it up the day after at a local bookstore.
I would just try to stay as isolated as possible no noone spills!
