I just finished watching the special that aired on G4. I didn't watch the whole thing, but I did watch most of it. (Missed the one on HBO) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Anyway, I saw one clip that pleased me and one that disappointed me a bit. I'll black these out so you'll have to highlight them if you want to read them. And please, remember, this is only my opinion.
First, the bad news...
It didn't show precisely where Harry and Sirius were at, but it looked as if they were at King's Cross. There Sirius shows Harry the picture of the original Order and says a couple things about a couple of them. It was a nice moment between the two, and I suppose it did play in well considering Sirius does go to the Station with Harry in the book, I was just a bit disappinted that it was Sirius that showed Harry the photograph rather than Moody (who, incidentally, looks to be guarding the door). Not a big deal, but if you've got Moody in the vicinity anyways, and Harry seemed surprised to see Sirius there, why didn't they just have Moody show it to Harry just before he got on the train and have it unnerve him a bit? Like I said, a bit of a disappointment, but it wasn't anything major.
Now the really good, kick derriere news.....
Down in the Department of Mysteries, Bellatrix is walking up and asking Neville, “Neville Longbottom is it? How are Mum & Dad?” And then Neville says “Better now that they’re about to be avenged” and Harry puts his hand up and stops Neville lifting his wand and attacking Bellatrix. It was GREAT! I called Bellatrix a very nasty word when she said what she did and then cheered Neville on when he reacted the way he did.
27.5 hours left till the film's released in my area and it really feels like much, MUCH, longer. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Anyone want to add anything else that they've seen before the movie is out for us to discuss and salivate over till we each finally get to see it for ourselves? Hehe this doesn't really further this topic but....I'm seeing the movie tomorrow, first session. So excited....maybe even more excited then about the book which is so weird, but I think that's just because the movie is closer. So afterwards I'll come here and tell you all what I think (but warn you first ...spoilers and all)

Well I have now seen it and was ready to talk about it, only I don't want to SPOIL anything. Do we need to start a topic with SPOILER ALERT for those of us who saw it?

I don't think so. I figure that since this thread is titled "Share what you think about OOTP", that those who don't want to be spoiled will stay out. At least, I hope they will. I don't want them to have it ruined for them. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Hmmm, do you think that there should be a warning at all? Then again it's not like they haven't read the book.

If they come in to a topic that says it's talk about the film and read it and get spoiled it's their own fault. The topic is clearly titled. Now, if it wasn't, I'd truly feel bad. But since it is, I'll sleep well! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Before I was a bit concerned about it for myself, but I've now changed how I feel about it, after all, I have read the book, so there shouldn't be too many surprises. Now as far as DH is concerned, if I see anything about it before I read it I'm gonna be a very angry person, lol. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

So....forgive me but now I'm rather confused. May I post what I thought about the film here?
Well then *SPOILERS* For those who don't know, Sirius happens to be my favourite character and as this movie deals with his death I was very particular about that. For starters, I have to admit I cried. Mainly because every single moment Harry and Sirius were together all I could think was....he's going to die soon. And it got sooner and sooner and by the time he actually died in the department I was really crying. So Sirius death. It is not what I expected, Bellatrix fired off an Avada Kedava at him, but missed and it hit the wall. But then Sirius almost stepped back into the veil, I don't know if it was sposed to be as he tried to dodge the spell or what. As for the veil itself, it isnt even a curtain just...mist. I'm still not sure if I liked the way the movie dealt with his death, I have to see it again but I'm curious to know what you guys thought about this? The movie itself was brilliant....if you kind of try to forget about the book. There were a few "crucial" things missing. Like Ron and Hermione being prefects, Dumbledore doesn't tell Harry about the phrophecy, there is no Harry breaking things in DD's office scene. Just a lot of smaller things. Now the main thing bugging me; there is no mention of Regulas in the films. You think if he was RAB, JKR would have made sure they included him. So what does this mean for RAB is Regulas Black supporters? |

Hmmm...I wasn't able to see any of the clips, so it's a good thing that WWW is here to tell us all about it! I'm just wondering, but if anyone knows, are any of these clips the one that showed on the TV Guide channel? LOL, I don't think it would be if you didn't watch it on there because, unless they were lying, it specifically said "the video clip no one else has".

QUOTE May I post what I thought about the film here? Yes, you may. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) QUOTE Dumbledore doesn't tell Harry about the phrophecy Now THAT concerns me. Why didn't they mention it? It's the reason V came after Harry in the first place! What is that?!? QUOTE Now the main thing bugging me; there is no mention of Regulas in the films. You think if he was RAB, JKR would have made sure they included him. So what does this mean for RAB is Regulas Black supporters? Well heck, if they left out the very reason this whole thing got started in the first place, what does it matter what's in the films anymore? Leaving out the prophecy! I ask you, what the heck is more important than that?!? Ugh! Thank goodness the series is almost over! After it is I can leave it as it is and move on without having to endure WB and their cuts!I'm sorry, but right now I'm a little angry and wishing that it was any other company making these movies at the moment. URGH! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/irked.gif) EDIT: Okay, I walked away from the computer for a bit and calmed down. Maybe they'll put it it HBP when DD has his first lesson with Harry? Or, wait a minute, doesn't Lucius mention it to Harry in the Hall of Prophecy? So in that case DD wouldn't have to tell Harry, would he? It's got to be in the films somewhere, it's just got to be! QUOTE I wasn't able to see any of the clips, so it's a good thing that WWW is here to tell us all about it! I only saw a couple clips on G4. I haven't seen them all. Oh yes, that's right about Dumbledore not mentioning the connection between Trelawney and the prophecy. While making dinner, I was remembering and agreeing what a reviewer said about Maggie Smith and Emma Thompson being underplayed. It was as if Lucius was the one who explained it to Harry.
I was also crying during the moments between Sirius and Harry. I can see Daniel tapping into his admiration for Gary for those scenes. As for the death scene, I didn't realize the spell bounced off the wall. I interpreted it as Harry looking behind him, looking to see if her spell had hit someone else, like as if it were a denial that she actually hit Sirius. In fact, when he chases her, she is heard screaming, "I killed Sirius Black!" Before the chase, I liked the play of expressions on Helena's face when she looks back at what she has done. For a moment, I felt she realized she had killed her own cousin, but then her sadistic nature quickly takes over. |

But Sirius would have died instantly if the spell hit him..but his eyes didn't freeze or anything.
Sorry WWW! The phrophecy is in there....well some of it, only two or three lines it does have the neither can live while the other survives stuff. Harry hears it in the hall of phrophecy from the orb. |
