First, I understand and recognize (and have since I was a young teen) that books and movies are different media interpretations, so I do not compare them critically.
I just read a CNN review of HBP, (see here: http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/Movies/07/...nce/index.html) and it mentions on major character who is missing from the movie. Who is it? I have tickets for the 7pm show tonight, so I will find out soon enough, but I would be interested to know who so I may ponder it before I see the movie..... |

" Desert, well let's see.... Hmmm if you like Carrot Cake I know a place that makes the best in the world. For a whole cake it's $90. lol"
To Baty: Pecan Pie and Carrot Cake are my favorites. Anti up girl let's go! (Big Grin) "I really loved this movie, found it the best so far. I thought it actually sticked to the plotlines well." To Kane: I'm glad you loved the movie, but I have to wonder if you read the book. All the movies have to a certain extent followed the plotlines, but the presentation can change the context and nature of the story. They have left out little parts that later mean a lot; they have put words in to different characters mouths and change the meaning and effect of those words; they have reduced key characters in to bit players or mere window dressing. (Sorry, I'm ranting.) Anyway, I could find the flim forgivable, with the exception of the "Dumberdore death scene". The way they played it changed and challenged everything I know and love about Harry. I will not go into detail for the sake of those who have not seen or read this part, but to not at least do to Harry what was done in the book you change the impact that the scene will have on other parts of the story that no matter how you play it are essential to the finish. In fact, I can think of at least two things in that scene that change the logic of the wand lore. (If you re-read it you will know what I mean.) Enough said: Pass the cake! |
