Two of A Kind
A Harry Potter fic by Katie and Petra

Goldina stood in the Palace courtyard, waiting for her friend, Princess Katie. The two were going to Hogwarts to check up on the school's progress. Her trunk was at her feet, and her owl, Zeus --a gift from Katie-- sat in his cage on top of the trunk.

Katie soon came into the courtyard, her trunk behind her, and her own owl in its cage. Beside her was Sasha, her Lupe Guardian, and a pack of Lupes.

"Hi, Katie!" Goldy greeted her friend.

"Hello, Goldy!" Katie answered with a smile.

(Your turn, Katie. I assume you are going to assign Astra to me. It's okay that she's a Starry Lupe, isn't it? That's kinda why I chose the name, "Astra" for her.)

Katie & Petra's Harry Potter Fanfic

"Goldy,Goldy,Goldy" Katie said as she shook her head and smiled "How many times have I told you to call me Spike"

"I don't know" Goldy stated "Why is the Lupe pack here?"

" 'Cuz, I'm going to assign you a guardian" Spike answered happily

A Starry Lupe stepped forward,her coat was blue with big yellow stars,she grinned widely

"Her name is Astra,since she's a Starry Lupe and all" Spike said "And she's all yours"

"Wow!Thanks!" Goldy cried happily,stroking the Lupe's head

Spike smiled,to see her best friend so happy made her happy.Spike had dark brown almost black hair that was braided back into two short pontails,they dangled just above her shoulders,she always wore a blue bandanna over her hair,she had chocolate brown eyes that danced with happiness,her skin was too dark to be tan and too light to be brown it was a perfect shade inbetween.She wore a red long sleeve top,thin lines of alternating white and green went horizontally across the top,the sleeves stopped a quarter of the way from her wrists.

Around each wrist was a black leather cuff with spikes on it,she wore blue jeans,sneakers,and to top it all off,soft,feathery wings sprouted from her shoulders.The wings were removeable,so she could take them off when she didn't want to wear them,they were a gift from her grandmother the queen of the Magical Empire which resided in the Other Realm.

Goldy was, true to her name, all golden. Her hair was a golden blonde, with hot pink streaks running through it. Her eyes were amber, and what little makeup she wore --just some eyeshadow and lipstick-- was shimmery gold. She wore a gold lame` mini-dress which bared the left shoulder. The right side had a short sleeve, and the hem of the mini came to a point just above the knee. To contrast the gold, her pantyhose was glittering silver. On her feet was metalic-gold pumps.

As for jewelry, she wore gold, starburst-shaped earrings, a gold and red disk belt, a gold necklace, and gold bracelets. In other words, 1980's glam rock, of which Goldy had a fondness.

The only thing that was not gold was her skin, which was a normal caucasian shade.

And this was her signature look. She smiled at Spike.

"Ready to go?" she asked.

(Your turn. Goldy's look is a redisigned Jem, from the 1980's cartoon "Jem". Jem's look was all pink, though, and her belt was silver with blue deisigns and silver fringe.)

"Yup!" Spike answered happily"I've been looking forward to this trip"

She turned towards the pack of Lupe's

"I'll call for you guys when we've decided which kids will get a guardian for the school year"

Each bowed their heads in understanding,Spike pulled something from her pocket,it was a golden scepter,the top of this scepter was shaped like the head of a unicorn with diamonds for the eyes.It swelled slightly underneath the figure head,a line of rubys made their way around the swell,it narrowed ever so slightly and swelled once again near the end,rubys also made a line around this swell as well,the bottom of this scepter was a large diamond.

This was the Scepter of the Unicorn the most powerful magical object in the Other Realm.Spike made a large circular motion with the Scepter,a swirling portal appeared,both girls helped each other pick up the trunks and put them on trollys.Both owls hooted softly as the wind from the portal blew thier feathers,Spike and Goldy went into the portal at a full run and came out on a train platform.

"Plaform nine and three quarters" Goldy read outloud "We're here"

"Come on" Spike said "Lets find a compartment"

The girls traveled to one of the very last compartments,and slid open the door,inside were only three people,a boy with glasses and untidy black hair,a girl with wavy brown hair, and another boy with fiery red hair and freckles.

"Hello," Goldy said. "This is Spike, and I'm Goldina. You can call me 'Goldy', if you like." She smiled pleasently.

"My name is Ron Weasly," the red-haired boy said. "This is Hermione Granger," he indicated the girl, "and Harry Potter," the boy in the glasses.

"Pleased to meet you," Goldy smiled.

As the train started up on its way to Hogwarts, a woman with came by with a cart full of goodies. The three bought favorites like Chocolate Frogs and Pumpkin Pastries. While Spike bought what she wanted, Goldy stuck to some of the safer treats, like Chocolate Frogs (of which she bought quite a few), and Cauldron Cakes. She steered clear of the Bertie Bott's All-Flavor Beans, however. She never quite trusted them. Sometimes, she thought Mr. Bott went too far with the bean flavors. Oh, well. Too each his --or her-- own.

"First years?" Ron asked. "I haven't seen either of you two before."

"Well, of course they're first years," Hermione answered before Goldy or Spike could speak. "We would definatly have seen them if they had already been enrolled."

Ron and Harry looked at each other and rolled their eyes. As much as they liked Hermione, there were times when she could be a real pain.

For many miles, the group just sat there, talking about summer, themselves, and whatever else came to mind.

As they were talking the compartment door slid open and in walked the person that Harry really didn't want to see: Draco Malfoy and his cronies, Crabbe and Goyle.

"What do you want Malfoy?" Harry snapped angerily

The Slytherin boy just sneered,his grey-blue eyes shifted towards the two newcomers

"I see you've got some friends,Potter" he smirked nastily "Tell me,are they losers too?"

The girls exchanged looks,not even their friends in the Other Realm had been that nice to them

"Beat it,Malfoy" Ron said through gritted teeth

"Making a stand,Weasly?" he eyed the red headed boy "Too bad I don't my trunk with me,that could be worth some Galleons"

Ron was reaching for his wand,as was Harry,Hermione had had just about enough of this

"Malfoy why don't you go back with your own kind" she hissed

"What do you care,Granger?" Draco snapped

He shifted his gaze back to the newcomers

"Why would you two want to hang around these three losers?" he questioned

He is such a jerk! Goldy thought. She then thought of a funny trick to play on him, something Spike and she sometimes played, just for fun. But she would let the three in front of her in on the joke.

"Isn't he so sweet?" she asked Spike.

"Yes, he is," the other girl answered.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione just looked at the two as if they were crazy.

"Well...um...er..." Draco stammered. "I need to check on...my friends..." Flustered, the blond youth left the car.

The three looked at the two girls with a mix of puzzlement and disgust.

"Is he out of earshot?" Goldy asked.

"Yes," Spike replied. "Well out of earshot."

"Good," Goldy smiled. "And about what I said..." she immediantly took her finger and stuck it in her mouth and pretended to gag.

"Huh?" Harry, Ron, and Hermione's eyes went very wide. "What's going on?" Harry asked.

"It's a game Spike and I play," Goldy explained. "We say something, but mean the opposite. For example, if I were to say to you, Harry, 'I hate you,' it would really mean, 'I like you', and vice, versa."

"So when you said that Malfoy was 'so sweet', you really meant..." Harry said.

"I really meant, 'He's so disgusting!'," she smiled. The three looked at each other, then at Goldy and Spike. As one, the five grinned at each other.

"This is going to be fun!" Ron laughed.

"Do we tell the rest of Gryffindor House about the joke?" Hermione asked.

"Only if one or both of us gets sorted into Gryffindor," Spike replied.

"I'm hoping for it," Goldy said. "I hear that it's the best House at Hogwarts."

"It is," Harry smiled. "'Course, we may be a bit partial to it, since it's our House."

"That's understandable," Goldy smiled. "It's natural to be partial to your own group."

"And, of course, Hogwarts, itself," Spike added.

"As the song says," Goldy put in, "'Be True to Your School'."

"That's true," Harry smiled.

"We're almost there," Ron said, looking out the window. In the distance, getting closer, was a huge castle.

Soon, they would start another year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Spike and Goldy sure had their work cut out for them.

Soon the train pulled into Hogsmeade station,everyone piled out of the train.As they were walking Spike spotted Draco and waved at him,he quickly ducked out of sight,all five of them laughed.Soon a huge man with tangled black hair and a beard towered over the crowd of bustling students.

"Firs' years,firs' years this way" he called his voice easily heard over the noise of the crowd

"We'll meet you inside" he told the two girls "Fisrt years have to cross the lake"

Spike just smiled at him

"Did we forget to mention,we're not students we're just here to check up on the school's progess"

"Are you two some kind of inspecters?" Ron asked

"You could call us that" Goldy answered

Inside Hogwarts, Goldy and Spike met a matriarchal woman in long, black robes and a tall, pointed, black hat.

"Ah, yes," Proffessor McGonagall greeted them. "Headmaster Dumbledore is expecting the two of you. Just follow the First Years into the Great Hall and take your seats at the table near the teacher's table."

"Thank you, Proffessor," Spike replied. The girls followed the First Years into the giant room and moved to their table. As soon as everyone was settled in, Proffessor McGonagall brought out a stool and an old, beat-up wizard's hat. She set the stool in the middle of the room, and put the hat on the stool.

The Sorting Ceremony had begun.

(How da ya like the title?)

Spike and Goldy sat and watched the Sorting Ceremony,the rip in the beat up old wizard's hat opened like a mouth and began to sing.(I was too lazy to think of a song).

After it finished singing,everyone clapped,Professor McGonagall took out a large scroll and began to read

"Lake,Brandon"

A boy scurried forward and placed the hat on his head and sat down on the stool.

"RAVENCLAW" the hat bellowed for all to hear

All the tables erupted in applause,but one table was the loudest,the boy took off the hat and found a seat at the Ravenclaw table.

"Clezzie,Stephnie"

A girl with blonde hair and blue eyes stepped forward and put the hat on.

"GRYFINNDOR" the hat shouted

Applause erupted from the Gryfinndor table,as well as the others,except Slytherin.

Soon all the First Years were sorted into houses,and Albus Dumbledore stood up with his arms outstrecthed

"Welcome,my friends,to another year at Hogwarts" he smiled and continued

"This year we have two special guests,they will be with us the entire term.They will be evalulating our schools proformance,so be on your best behavior"

At that moment he cast a wary eye to Fred & George Weasely

"Introducing Goldina and Spike"

The girls were greeted by an explosion of applause,they stood and bowed to the tables,Spike then whispered something in Dumbledore's ear and he nodded his head.

"Now let the feast began"

The food didn't appear as it usually did,and everyone was a little surprised even the teachers.Whispers quickly spread through the Great Hall like wildfire.

"HeadMaster?Is there something wrong?" Professor McGonagall asked Dumbledore

"Nothing's wrong Minerva" he said calmly that familiar twinkle in his eyes

"Students and staff" he said,the whispers hushed immediately

"This year our special guest will do the honors"

Spike promptly spread her angelic wings and took flight,hovering at least three feet off the ground,she pointed her Scepter at the crowd of students.Every student,even the Slytherins shuddered as she did so.

"Unicomus!" she shouted

A beam of bright white light burst from the tip of the Scepter,most of the girls 'ooohhhhh'ed as the light took the form of a unicorn.

The unicorn reared,pawing the air with its fronts hooves.It then began to run,in mid-air no less,at full gallop,nearing the middle of the Great Hall it neighed loudly and burst into golden dust.As the dust fell upon the students,the food magically appeared as it always did.

The house tables,even the Slytherins,burst into applause,Spike landed and bowed,folding her magnificent wings behind her.She then took her seat next to Goldy,her friend was smiling at her

"Show off" Goldy joked

"You're just jealous" Spike replied

Both girls laughed and began to eat,while they were eating Dumbledore came over to them

"I've told the teachers to pay no heed to you,unless spoken to"

After he sat back down at the teacher's table,Spike smiled at Goldy

"Can you say major mischeif?" she asked,her smile broadening

"Yes I can" Goldy responed,a smile curling on her lips

They then went back to their dinner,discussing what they would do to torment the teachers,especially Snape.

"So" Spike asked a little later "What house do you want to stay in?"

"Gryfinndor" Goldy answered quickly

Spike smiled

"I thought so"

After the feast was finished the girls followed the rest of the Gryfinndor's to their dorm,when they got there a picture of a Fat Lady in a pink silk dress asked for the password

"Gopstoppers" a Prefect in the front said and the portrait
swung open leading into the common room.Spike and Goldy followed Hermione and the other girls up to their dormitiory

Two extra four-poster beds were there and the girls trunks were at the foot of their beds.All of them quickly changed into their PJ's and went to bed.Back downstairs,the boys had decided to stay up a little later

"I don;t believe it" Fred said collasping into one of the many armchairs

"Don't believe what?" Harry asked,sitting down near him

"Don't you get it?" Fred asked bewildered

Both Harry and Ron shook their heads

"Those girls have free rein of the castle" George stated

"And I overheard Dumbledore telling them that teachers had to ignore them,no matter what" Fred put in

"That's something Fred and I have wished for for years" Geogre said "There would be tons of options if we had that kind of privalige"

"Think of how many pranks we could pull and not get in trouble" Fred said sighing "We could start a food fight,set of tons of Dungbombs,and a whole lot of other things"

Harry and Ron smiled at each other

Spike and Goldy were in the girls' dorm of Gryffindor House, getting ready for bed. True to form, Goldy's pajamas were gold lame. As she changed into these shiny bedclothes, Goldy sang softly. Spike, Hermione, and the other girls could make out the words to the song, "Do You Believe In Magic?" as Goldy went through her bedtime routine.

"Old Muggle song," Spike explained to the girls, who gave both Spike and Goldy very curious looks. Hermione and the others just nodded to one another.

"Now," Goldy said when she was finished. She turned around, then flopped onto her bed, sitting Indian-style on top of the covers. "What are we going to do?"

Two of a kind

Spike had just finished changing,she wore a baby blue tank top,and long pajamma pants.These were also baby blue and had white fluffy clouds on them,her hair was down and hung around her shoulders.She then reached back and unfixed her wings from her shoulders,Goldy was used to this,but the others were not they were giving her curious looks.

Spike smiled at their surprised looks

"Did I forget to mention that these are removable" she said "They fit anybody"

She walked over to Hermione and placed the base of the wings on Hermione's back,the wings instantly attached themselves,and folded gracefully behind her.Hermione ran her hands down the soft,feathery,wings,after a few minutes Spike took them off and let Parvati,Lavender,and Padma try them on.

After they were all finished,Spike layed the wings on top of her trunk.

"What are we going to do?" Goldy repeated

Spike plopped down on her bed,picked up a pillow,and threw it at Goldy

"Does that answer your question?" Spike said smiling

"Yup,that's the best idea you've had all night"

With that Goldy grapped one of her pillows and laucned herself off her bed and pounced on Spike,whacking her with the pillow.

"You know this means war,right?" Spike said grabbing a pillow and returning the blows

Soon all the girls were involved in the pillow fight,laughing as they hit each other,the pillow fight was still going strong when Profeesor McGonagall's voice rose up the stairs

"Girls,what's going on up there?"

The sound of footsteps climbing the stairs reahced their ears

"Uh oh,hurry" Spike whispered urgently

The girls dashed around picking up pillows and desposing of the feathers,they put the pillows on the correct beds and flung themselves onto them,quickly covering themselves with the sheets.

They had just closed their eyes when the door opened,Professor McGonagall looked around at what she thought were sleeping girls.She closed the door behind her as she left,after she was well out of earshot,giggles reverberated throughtout the room.Soon they all fell asleep,tired out from their play.

The next morning, the girls were dressed and ready for their first day at Hogwarts. Goldy --true to form-- was dressed in a black bodysuit, with a gold lame tank top and a pair of gold lame hotpants. On her feet was metalic gold go-go boots. She wore the jewelry from yesterday, with the same make-up.

"You sure like to stand out, don't you, Goldy?" Spike grinned as the girls walked down from the dorm to the Gryffindore Common Room.

"Yep!" Goldy grinned at her friend.

"Whoa!" was Ron's reaction when he saw Spike and Goldy.

"I think that's a compliment," Goldy grinned at Spike.

"Yes, I think it is," the other girl grinned back.

The students made their way to the Great Hall for breakfast. It would be here that Spike and Goldy would plan where to go for the day.

"I'm following Harry," Goldy whispered to Spike. She had a special secret that only Spike, Dumbledore, and herself knew, a secret that involved Harry Potter!

Once inside the Great Hall,the girls headed strait to their special table next to the staff table.They sat down and watched the students file in.

"Who are you following?" Goldy questioned while spooning scrambled eggs onto her plate

"I don't know" Spike stated,also spooning scrambled eggs onto her plate

Spike then put some strips of bacon onto her plate and began to eat.She looked over at the staff table,each ad very one of them were there,Snape,McGonagall,Dumbledore,Hagrid,and Flitwick.

"I think I know" Spike said suddenly

Goldy followed her gaze,she was eyeing Draco Malfoy at the Slytherin table.Goldy smirked.

"You're so evil" she said her smirk widening

"I know" Spike said

Just then,the morning mail delivery came in,hundreds of owls swooping every which,a Snowy owl landed on the table next to Spike.

"Hey Aero" Spike greeted cheerily

Aero dropped a piece of parchment into her lap and hooted happily.

"Thanks" Spike said as she stroked the owl's soft feathers

With that Aero grapped a strip of bacon in her beak and took off back to the Owlery.Spike unrolled the parchment.

"It's from Grandma" Spike stated


Dear Kathina,

I'm happy you made it safely to Hogwarts.Remember to study the students of each house carefully to determine who is most worthy of a Guardian.Good luck with it.

"Kathina?" Gody asked raising a brow

"Breath a word of this to anybody and you are so dead" Spike said threatingly

"Scouts honor" Goldy said

"Are you going to tell Harry about --well, you know?" Spike asked.

"I'll wait and ask Dumbledore about it," Goldy answered.

"It's a very old custom. I'm surprised it hasn't been done away with altogether."

"True," Goldy answered. "Well, you know about customs: The older they are, the harder they are for people to change."

"That's certainly true," Spike replied. "He'll have to know sometime, though."

"He will. Before we leave Hogwarts, Harry will know."

"Good," Spike smiled. "Oops! Looks like Dumbledore is getting ready to speak." Both girls became quiet as the Headmaster began to make an important announcement.

HEY!I'm back!

During breakfast the scedules for the new school year were handed out.Spike and Goldy wandered over to the Gryffindor table.

"Hey guys" Spike greeted cheerfully "So what classes do you have?"

Harry,Ron,and Hermione each stated their scedules.Just then the bell rang and the hustle and bustle of the school day began.As they were walking,Spike came up beside Harry

"Don't worry,I'll be there Friday in double potions" she whispered

Another student hurried by,passing between Spike and Harry.Harry blinked Spike was now gone as if she'd never been there.

"Hey Harry what did Spike want?" Ron asked

Harry smiled

"Just giving a little reassurance" he stated

Welcome back, Katie! ^_^



Goldy would follow Harry to all his classes today. She still wondered when would be the right time to reveal to him the odd perdictament they both shared. Dumbledore had a private discussion with her about it, and advised her to keep quiet for now. He wanted to make sure Harry was comfortable having Goldy around before the secret was revealed.

So Goldy kept quiet, and sat in on Harry's first class of the day.

Lunch that day found Harry, Ron, and Hermoine sitting together with Goldy. As they ate their lunch --which was more like a feast (Only in a castle...)-- the four talked about their adventures. From three-headed dogs, to monsterous spiders, to amazing games of Quidditch, Harry and his friends seemed to have seen and done it all. Seemed, that is. One never knows just what the future has in store for everyone.

They were talking about the Quidditch World Cup, when Spike entered the room. She walked toward them.

"Hi, Spike," Goldy smiled at her friend.

Spike settled herself at the table

"So,Goldster,how was your day so far?" Spike chirped

"Good,and yours?"

"Great" Spike said simply

Spike began to eat as well,soon Draco Malfoy entered the Great Hall,unbeknowst to him,there was a sign taped to his back.

It read: Point at me and whisper

"Whisper about what?" Goldy whispered to Spike.

"Anything!" Spike whispered back. Goldy snickered a bit, then whispered to Harry, Hermoine, and Ron, who was sitting across from them.

The three looked at Draco's back, and grinned, then turned around and began whispering something back at Spike and Goldy. The group could hear whispers from the other tables, indicating that the other students had seen the sign.

"I wonder who put that sign there?" Goldy whispered to her friends.

Two of a Kind

"Yes,I wonder" Spike said,that familar mischievious gleam in her eye

"I admire your talents" George said approvingly as Fred nodded

By the time Malfoy sat down every table was whispering,it was finally Goyle who pointed out the sign to Malfoy who quickly removed it.

Spike chuckled

"Gryffindors one,Slytherins zero" Goldy annouced

After lunch they all went their seperate ways,Spike followed Ron,Goldy,and Harry to Divination.Professor Trelawney seemed to like predicting death the two visitors found out later.

Next came History of Magic where Professor Binns put everyone but Hermione into a stuper.Harry came out of it momentarily to glance over at Goldy and Spike,Goldy boredly twirled a lock of her blonde and hot pink streaked hair.Spike whose wings were usually folded were drooped and almost touching the floor,she leaned her head on her hand.

With a quick glance around,she pulled a straw out of her pocket,Harry elbowed Ron who came out of his stuper,to look at him,Harry nodded towards Spike and Ron turned just as she was putting what looked to be a small wet ball of paper into the straw.

the rest of the class as if sensing what was going on came out of their dormant states to watch,in this class any form of excitement is welcome.

Spike put the straw to her lips,inhaled deeply and then exhaled sharply,the force of which caused the small wet ball to shoot out and hit the chalk board where it stuck.She quickly hid the straw as everyone erupted into laughter,

"Settle down,settle down" the ghost Professor said uninterupted by the spit ball.

At last, the day was over, and Goldy entered the Gryffindor Common Room, where she plopped down in the first chair she found in front of the fire.

"Whew!" she panted. "I forgot how exhausting school could be!"

"Yep!" Spike agreed. "It can take a lot out of you." They watched as Harry and the other Gryffindors filed into the room.

Spike watched as the other Gryffindors went about their buisness,some chatting and laughing,others doing homework,and whatnot.Harry,Ron,and Hermione were busy doing homework,their books open and quills scratching busily.

"Hey Goldster" Spike said

"Hmmm?" Goldy said

"Sitting and watching seems a little boring.Why don't we be a little hands on?"

"Sounds great" Goldy said beaming at her friend "Which class?"

"Care of Magical Creatures" Spike said

"You want to help Hagrid with his next lesson?" Goldy questioned

"No,why don't we ask if we can do the next lesson?Though the creatures I have in mind aren't magical,they can still do some pretty awesome things" Spike said smiling

Goldy smiled back

"I'll go ask Hagrid" she said

"And I'll write the letter back home.Lets make this our little secret,I want it to be a surprise when the lesson comes" Spike whispered,making sure the others weren't listening in

With that Goldy left out the portrait hole and Spike got to work on that letter.She took out a roll of parchment,ink,and her special quill,which was made from the feather of her guardian in her Celestial form,the quill was a beautiful white feather with a blue tip.

She dipped her quill into the ink and began to write

Dear Grandma,

Can Goldy and I borrow 158,228,344,502,and 613?We'll be really careful with them.And you might want to send some containment capsules,too.Please and thank you.

Sastisfied she layed her quill down,picked up her letter,and headed out the portrait hole.On the way to the Owlery she met up with Goldy

"What did he say?" she asked

"He said yes!" Goldy cried in excitement

Spike smiled

"You know Hagrid,any new creature is welcome" she said

They both went to the Owlery together and gave Zues the letter,they hurried back to the Gryffindor commen room,and sank into the squishy armchairs.

Goldy took one look at the numbers that Spike had written down on the paper, and she gave her friend a look like the other was a little off her rocker.

"Are you sure about this, Spike?" the gold-clad girl asked. "I mean, those creatures..."

"Sure, I'm sure," Spike grinned.

"Yeah...but those things? We'd have better luck if we got Pokemon and started teaching about them!"

Spike just grinned at her friend.

"'Pokemon'?" Ron asked, suddenly interested. "What're 'Pokemon'?"

"Um...well" Spike said"They're strange creatures that live in forests,lakes,and lots of other places.There are many species and within each are individual pokemon.

Each one is unique and has its own personaility,but they all have special powers"

Oddly enough, there is some Kid Meal Toys based on these creatures, running now, so I've actually seen a few.




"They now live in Hawaii, for the most part," Goldy said. "I think. Which begs the questions: How are you going to get them here? And: How are you going to keep them from tearing the place appart once they get here? They're worse then most of the creatures in Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them put together."

"They are?" Ron gulped. One could here his voice rise slightly as he said the word, "are". He kept thinking about his and Harry's run-in wiht that Acromantula in their second year at Hogwarts.

"Let me put it this way," Goldy told him, "despite that most of them are small in size, Hagard would just love to own the lot of them. On the Ministry of Magic Classification Scale, most are about....XXXX."

Ron gulped and looked at Harry.

"That would be," Harry quoted, "'Dangerous/requires specialist knowledge/skilled wizard may handle'."

"Yep!" Spike smiled.

"I hope none are...well...you know...XXXXX..." Ron gulped.

"'Known wizard killer/impossible to train or domesticate'," Harry breathed.

"You've never been known to memorize things, Harry," Hermione commented, looking at her friend, impressed. "That's good!"

"When you hang around Hagrid a lot, you learn things like this," was all the bespeckled boy said.

When the Gryffindor students came back from their classes the next day, they found the strange capsules. There were strange numbers on them, like 149, 150, 520, etc. When some curious students tried to open any of the capsules, however, they found that something prevented them.

"Anti-tampering spells, I believe," Goldy said. "I hope you're sure about this," she added, turning to Spike.

"It'll work out fine," the other girl assured her.

"Famous last words!" Goldy retorted. Spike just glared at her gold-attired friend.

Spike and Goldy carried the capsules up into the girls dormitory,they spent the rest of the time in the Common Room,where excited chatter filled the room.All of the talk was about the capsules and what might be in them,they heard everything from a new breed of creatures to extremely violent magical objects.

Finally,the Common Room thinned out as everybody headed up to bed,once in the girls dormitory Spike and Goldy changed into their PJ's and Spike came over and sat on Goldy's bed.

"Sooooo?" Lavender asked,eyes wide with curiousity "What're in those capsules?"

Spike smiled

"Sorry,you won't find out until tommorow" she said

"C'mon" Parvati Patil pleaded "Just a little peak"

"Sorry" Goldy said

Both girls went off to sit on a bed together and whisper excitedly.Hermione was sitting on her bed reading 'Wonderful beasts and where to find them',the Monster book of Monsters sat on the bed and struggled against Spell-O tape.

Spike got up and walked over to her own bed,bidding Goldy good night and settled down for some sleep


The following morning Spike and Goldy ate a quick breakfast and hurried off,the rest of the Gryffindors figured they were going to get the lesson ready.

As Harry,Ron, and Hermione went down the sloping lawns towards Hagrid's cabin the excited talk continued,as they got there the Slytherins were arriving.

"Gather 'round everbody" Hagrid called,he seemed to be glowing with happiness

Harry,Ron,and Hermione exchanged looks,if Hagrid was happy and excited the creatures were no doubt dangerous.Everyone was gathered by the fence of a corral and Hagrid had moved off to the side to allow a clear view of what ever the creatures were when Spike came from around the courner of Hagrid's cabin with what appeared to be a small,red dragon on her shoulder.

A few of the girls gasped and Neville Longbottom looked a little pale.She approached them and stopped right by the fence.

Upon closer inspection the creature had large black eyes surrounded by a thin cream color,what appeared to be pinky finger width antenne with dark red tips were on top of its head.

It had a snout with a cutely upturned nose, there was another small dark red patch where its head sloped smoothly into its snout.It had a tail with a tip shaped like an arrow head,kind of like a devil tail,it also had small,non feather wings attached to its shoulders.

The same cream color that was around its eyes went from its bottom jaw down to its legs.What appeared to be Spell-O tape was wrapped around its jaws,the sight of this caused Neville to relax a little,knowing that it couldn't bite.

"Hello" Spike chirped merrily "This little guy here is Experiment 228,but we like to call him Melty"

Goldy then appeared with another creature in her arms

Nope, afraid not. I'll take 149, instead. Keep in mind the only picture I have of any of the experiments is on the Happy Meal bag.


Goldy held a small, greenish creature, with large ears, and thin, green antenna that ended in brown tips.. There was large, yellow eyes with almond-shaped blue pupils, and a brown button nose. Two small, blunt fangs shown over the lower part of the animal's mouth, which was yellow, and continued the color down the front and all the way down to a little past what served as the waist. Both arms and legs were green, with darker green patches at "elbows" and "knees". Each "hand" had three "fingers" and a "thumb", and the "palms" were brown. Each "foot" had four "toes", and the pads were also brown.

"Well," Spike said. "I suppose Bonnie without Clyde won't be too much of a problem..." She looked at the little creature a little doubtfully. She knew of the reputation that both the Experiments 149 (Bonnie) and 150 (Clyde) had, and she hoped that Bonnie, alone, would behave "her"self.

She hoped...

"This one here is Experiment 149 or Bonnie,she was designed to,er....steal your stuff" Goldy said

Spike gave Melty a pat on the head

"And this Experiment was designed to melt enemy fortresses,weapons,and transportation" she said

"So,who wants to hold Melty while I go get another Experiment?" Spike questioned

To everyones surprise Neville rose a shakey hand,Spike smiled

"Alright Neville,you get to hold him" Spike said

She walked over to Neville

"Hold out your arm" she instructed

Neville did as told,and Spike extended her arm,Melty came off her shoulder,walked down her arm and onto Neville's,where he made his way up to Neville's shoulder.He was content to sit there and gaze at the other students.

Spike then walked around the back of Hagrid's cabin and disappeared out of sight.

Goldy scanned the crowd,she didn't quite trust Bonnie with any of the students,especially ones who might have money or valueables in their pockets.She looked over at Malfoy,his pale eyes were glinting with desire,she narrowed her eyes at him.

There was no way she was giving the Experiment to HIM.

Thinking wisely she grabbed a containment capsules and put Bonnie inside.

Thanks. The pics of Cannonball and Tichter aren't colored, though, so I have no idea about what color they are.


Goldy opened another capsule and brought out a cute little gold-furred creature with large, almond-shaped purple eyes. At the top of its head was a brown-tipped, gold antenna tied with a large, red bow. Each hand had three fingers that was in reality very sharp golden blades.

"This little honey is Experiement Number 177, also known as Clip. It's specialty is cutting things, like your hair. Should be popular for wizard barbers and hair-stylists. Anyone want to hold this one?" Goldy held the cute little furry creature out to the students. Those with long and/or big hair involentairily backed away.

Spike reappeared with another Experiment,she stopped next to Goldy,a few of the girls 'ooooohhhhhh'ed.In her arms was a cute Experiment,it stared at all the students with curiousity.

It was a light orangish color,a white mask covered its face and went down to near its legs,except around its eyes,the light orangish color was thin below its eyes,but arched up above its eyes to near the top of the mask.

It had a brown nose that was round and not quite smalll and not quite large,medium sized.It had black normal-sized eyes,medium sized ears,and two brown stripes adorned its tail.

A brown and light orange striped medium sized antenna was curled tightly up backwards on top of its head.The pads of its hands were also white.


"This is Experiment 344" Spike said "His name is Dupe,he was designed to generate clones"

Spike held out an apple,Dupe promptly unfurled the antenna on top of his head,which was quite long given the size of the curl,once the antenna was over the apple a green light came forth,when it faded Spike held two apples.

Dupe recurled his antenna and made a happy sounding noise as he received a few strokes on the head from Spike.

"Who wants to hold this one?" she questioned

Many hands,most belonging to girls,shot into the air,Hermione was also among them,Spike wandered over and placed Dupe into her arms,he made another rather gleefull noise.

"Gather into groups everyone" Spike said "You'll all get to hold an Experiment"

Harry and Ron stood next to Hermione to get a closer look at the Experiment,he seemed utterly thrilled to be with them,Dean and Seamus had gathered around Neville who getting along great with Melty.


"Don't worry" she added to Parvati and Lavender "I've got an Experiment you'll just love"

With that she disappeared behind Hagrid's cabin once again

One more left with color, and I'm not doin' Clyde!


Spike came out just in time to see Goldy bring out another creature, and she stopped dead in her tracks at what she saw. The little creature was in shades of blue, with a large, dark blue nose, and light blue patches on its eyes and belly. It had four arms with four-"fingered" claws and large ears. A big mouth with large canines and a long, red, sloppy tounge made the little animal seem like a strange, alien dog.

"Goldy!" Spike cried. "How...where...how... did you get...HIM?!?"

"Lilo said he could come for a few days if he wanted, and I promiced to send him right back when we were done." To the rest of the class, the gold-attired girl said, "This is Experiment 626, known as Stitch. His specialyy is general craziness, but he's fun to have around. He makes a great phonograph player, and can impersonate Elvis Presley like nobody else can!" She grinned at the end, hoping the last bit would put the others at ease.

Spike just sort of gave her an "Are you out of your mind!" look.

Spike watched Goldy as a student finally agreed to hold Stitch,and Goldy went on the explain more about Melty,Clip,Dupe and the other Experiments.

She looked away and went over to the other Experiments still in their containment capsules,all of them were making impatiant noises as they either paced or pressed their hands to the walls of the capsules.

"Don't worry" Spike reassured them "You'll get let out soon"

She opened the capsule and took out the Experiment which she had mentioned and headed back to the students.

Goldy got out the next capsule. This would be the last one for her. She would let Spike do the others.

"This is Experiment 520," she said. "It's name is Cannonball. This one likes to dive off the high dive a lot."

This creature was huge --in a "puggdy" sort of way. Harry would not say anything out loud, but they only way he could describe the animal would be to say that --in size-- Cannonball made him think of his cousin, Dudley. That was just for size, though. Harry was sure that he would prefer this creature over his cousin any day. But he did not say anything.

Cannonball had ovalish-shaped ears, like a mouse's, and a large, roundish nose. It's mouth was large, and full of roundish teeth. The four-fingered hands were small, attached to thick, short arms, and the legs were also short. There was a short, pointy tail, and a pair of --wings?-- at the back. Cannonball was pinkish all over, with dark fuschia patches on his back, the tips of the "wings", the insides of the ears, the front of his face and belly, the palms of his hands, and his knees. His eyes were small, but friendly.

All-in-all, Cannonball looked quite nice.

"This fellow might be a little big to hold," Goldy said. Even now, she was struggling with the rather large creature. "Anyone want to try?" When no one vollenteered right away, she added, "Please? Help?"

Goldy looked like she might drop Cannonball at any moment. The creature did not look to happy about that, either.

Spike saw Goldy struggling and rushed over to help her while putting the Experiment she had in her arms on her shoulder.Together they lifted the Experiment.

"Thanks" Goldy said once they had managed to place Cannonball with a group of students

Spike reached up to take the Experiment into her arms,the Experiment smiled at her from behind a pacifier.

Spike walked over to the students and stopped right in front of the fence.The Experiment she held was very cute.

It had a large head compared to the relatively small body.It had large black almond shaped eyes,small oval shaped ears(kind of like Cannonball's),a cute baby blue button nose with darker blue on top,and a yellow pacifier in its mouth.

It had short arms and legs,the perfect size for its small body and a long tail with what looked like a pink and white rattle at the end(think beach ball pattern) the 'rattle' was bound in Spell-o tape.

It had a light cream color from its mouth to its belly,the same color was around its eyes,being thin on the bottom but arching near the top of its head on top.

It had two stubby antenna topped with dark pink,not too dark,not too light.It had purple semi-transparent wings shaped like a dragonflys afixed to its shoulders.There were four of them just like a dragonflys.

There were four bands of thin dark pink on its long tail,its body was a light pink color.

"This is Experiment 151" Spike said "Its name is Babyfier,it was designed to turn everyone into babies"

She handed this on to Lavander and Parvati

Goldy waited paitiantly for the infant creature to turn the two girls into babies. Their own origins protected her and Spike from the effects, but the gold-clad girl was not so sure about the wizards and witches. It would serve Draco and his groupies right if they were turned into babies!

Harry was thinking something simular about his cousin Dudley, who, in his opinion, acted a lot like a whiny infant. It was a fleeting thought, but an honest opinion of the heavy-set boy. Harry wished Dudley would change his ways --wished Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia would change, too, for that matter-- but knew that such wishes was just chaf in the wind. One could not change another's personality just by wishing it. The Durseys were the way they were, and nothing short of a miracule would change them for the better.

Harry would just have to live with it until he could move out, hopefully in, or after his seventh year at Hogwarts. He would be seventeen by then, and no longer an underage wizard. He wondered what he would do on that day, when, no longer considered underage by wizard law, and capable of casting any spell he had knowledge of. How would he deal with his unloving family, then? Would he exact revenge for seventeen long years of abuse? Or would he simply forgive them, and leave to live in his true world, the world of wizards?

He would find out when the time came. He hoped he would make the right decision then.

You will do the right thing when the time comes, Harry, a voice inside his head told him. I know you will. Surprised, the boy looked up, searching for the source of the voice.

He locked eyes with Goldy, who looked back and smiled. She simply nodded at him, her smile reassuring somehow.

You are more than you seem, Harry, Goldy's voice echoed in his head. There is much for you to accomplish. Don't let the world push you down. You will survive, and you will win over all who try to destroy you. Trust yourself.

Harry blinked for a moment, then smiled and nodded.

The rest of the lesson went smoothly,with each group of students getting to hold an Experiment.Malfoy and his cronies got to hold the harmless Finder,his purpose was to find things.

When the lesson ended Goldy and Spike were sastisfied to hear disappointed groans,which would do wonders for Hagrid's teaching confidence.

They put the Experiments back into their containment capsules,and with Hagrid's help,carried them back to the castle.Excited chatter was heard all the way there.

Once back in Gryffindor Tower Goldy and Spike wrote a note to the Other Realm to send the Experiments back.They left them in the Girl's Dormitory.

"Well,that was sure an interesting lesson" Hermione said sitting in one of the armchairs and buring her nose in a book

"May...be," the other gave her a secretive smile.

"Oh please tell me you're kidding!" the other girl looked horrified. "Wasn't the Experiments bad enough?"

Spike just simply continued to give Goldy her little smirk. The gold-clad girl was suddenly very uncomfortable.

She sat in one of the armchairs.She pulled out a book that had all the Hoenn Pokemon in it and information such as a bio,trainablity,and how well the certain species adjust to humans.

"We might as well as invite Sabrina and Duplica to visit, as well as that Pokemon witch...what's her name?" Goldy looked up toward the ceiling, trying to think of a name.

Spike just kept reading her book.

Sabrina was a Psychic Pokemon trainer, while Duplica had a kinda magic show with her Ditto.




"Yeah, Melody," Goldy said. "I wonder what happened to her."

Spike just shrugged her shoulders.

"Well," Goldy said, yawning, "I'm going up to bed. See you guys tomorrow."

"Good-night," everyone said.

Goldy made her way up to her room and made ready for bed. She slipped beneath the covers and went right to sleep.

Soon Spike came up the stairs and got ready for bed,she sat on her bed and rummaged thourgh her trunk,she found what she was looking for and smiled.

Between her fingers was a small red and white ball

"Good thing I brought this along" she said laying the object on the bedside table

She slipped beneath the covers and fell asleep

The night went by uneventfully, and the two got up the next morning, getting ready for the day. Goldy noticed the object on the nightstand.

"You brought your Pokemon?" she asked.

"Yep!" Spike smiled. "Didn't you?"

"No," Goldy answered. "I didn't think I'd need them here. This is a school for magic, not a Pokemon Training Camp."

"True, but some of them are psychic/mystical. They'd fit right in here."

"So would Sabrina," Goldy countered.

"True," Spike replied. "Well, here you go." She pointed at Goldy's hands, and the girl's Pokeballs appeared. "Just in case," she smiled.

"Thanks," Goldy smiled back. The two finished dressing and went downstairs to join the others for the new day.

At breakfast, the group sat together, piling their plates high with pancakes, sausage, and whatever else they decided to eat.

As they ate, Goldy wondered when Harry should be told about their secret. After all, it concerned him, and he should be told as soon as possible. It was an extremely old custom, and she was not even sure if it could be enforced in this day and age. But it still could be.

"I wonder what's on the agenga for today," Spike said, snapping Goldy from her thoughts.

"What? Oh," Goldy started. "I don't know."

"What's wrong?" Spike asked.

"Just thinking," Goldy answered. "About, well, you know." She motioned with her head toward Harry, who was talking with Ron as the two at.

Hermione, however, caught sight of the motion, and wondered to herself what they were saying about Harry.

Hiya!I'm the other author of this fic.If you're a little confused read the first part of the story,that'll explain who Goldy is.She's Spike's friend and voice of reason that Spike cannot hear.

On with the story!

Spike russled her feathers thoughtfully,it was a very old custom,and her Grandma,the Queen of the Other Realm,certainly didn't enforce it.It had been Harry's parents wish that he have a wife when he came of age,and as their last wish it had to be fulfilled.

Wait a minute!Maybe,just maybe,Goldy's family could adopt Harry,I mean if he was her 'brother' then it would be just plain wrong for them to marry.She'd run the idea by Goldy later.

And if that didn't work out and they still had to marry,maybe Harry could come live with them in the Other Realm,he could live with her family,I mean the marriage wouldn't be until they were older and they could add a new member to their little group called The Rebels.

She amused herself momentarily with the thought of Harry meeting her father,having a Dog Demon for a dad made life interesting.

Yay! We're back in business! And it's good to see the fic going in the right direction (top to bottom). How'd you manage that?

Goldy watched from the corner of her eye as Harry ate, wondering how she was ever going to broach the subject. She was deffinately not going to say it out loud, in front of everyone. The only ones she wanted present if and when she told him would be Dumbledore, McGonagall, Spike, and --of course-- Harry.

But how would the new go over with Harry --that was the problem. And, of course, the rest of the school was bound to get wind of the news sooner or later. She heard about that reporter, Rita Skeeter. Gah, that woman was a screamsheet* mudraker of the first order! The Great Faerie knew what she would do if she found out even a little about the betrothal!

Goldy knew that she would have to cound on the Ministry of Magic to keep Mz. Skeeter in line. Maybe there was a good "Secret-Keeping" spell out there, somewhere.

Harry moved his head, and for a moment, the two were in eye-contact with each other. Goldy mangaged a smile, then averted her gaze back to her pancakes, busing herself with cutting a piece and stuffing it into her mouth.

What would he say if he found out? was the thought that ran through her mind.

Spike heard something the russle of feathers besides her own and the flapping of wings,her ears became slightly pointed as she let some of her Dog Demon blood to come into play to increase her hearing.

It was the Morning Post.

Her ears went back to normal as hundreds of owls swooped down to deliver mail.Ron's owl,Pigwidgeon was fluttering hyperactively above their heads hooting with pride at having delivered a letter.

Spike reached up and snagged the little owl and handed him to Ron.

Two snowy owls swooped down,Spike's owl,Aero and Harry's owl,Hedwig.Hedwig landed and offered a letter to her owner.Aero landed and offered a small,round parcel to Spike.

She took the parcel and gently stoked the owl in thanks,Aero helped herself to some of Goldy's pancake and flew off

Goldy watched as Zeus appeared, dropping a letter in front of her, then landed to sit with Aero, playfully fighting with him over the piece of pancake.

Don't worry so much about the betrothal. Harry will know when it's time. The two of you can't escape it, so you had best get used to it. But you'll have plenty of time to get to know one another, so neither of you will mind it very much.

"What is it with adults?" she asked of her friend "Always trying to control our futures!"

If Spike would've had her dog ears they would've been pinned back in anger.Spike was really big on free will and didn't like to be controlled.She shoved the small,round,unopened parcel into her pocket.

"You should be more aggressive" she stated to her friend"Royalty is almost always betrothed to someone.If it hadn't have been for the hissy fit my Grandma threw about it when she was younger she would've been betrothed and who knows if I'd even exist right now"

"Goldy!" Spike quietly scolded.

"Point taken," Spike nodded.

"So, if I have to marry one of these guys, Harry's the one to wed," Goldy concluded.

"I suppose so..." Spike frowned.

"He seems to be nice. I wouldn't mind, really."

"Why don't you wait on making that decition until you get to know him better?" suggested Spike.

"I've been doing that," Goldy smiled. "He seems nice..."

Breakfast continued on as usual,they chatted about different things as they ate.Finally it was time for classes,Spike and Goldy would be following different people today as they had to chose a student from each House to be assigned a guardian.

Spike followed someone from Huffepuff while Goldy followed someone from Ravenclaw.First for Spike was Herbology in Greenhouse 3, she chose to watch the lesson from a distance because there was a plant in there that had ripped out some of her feathers on accident,it was a bird eater and had mistaken her wings for that of a bird's.

Goldy's day with the Ravenclaws went fairly smoothly. By lunch-time, though, she was ready to switch over back to Gryffidor.

To be truthfull, the betrothal was still on her mind. It was a very big deal, and the fact that this was the Twenty-first Century made it even harder to think about.

History with Prof. Binns was interesting. It was the first time Goldy had ever attended a class taught by a ghost!

There were, in fact, ghosts everywhere at Hogwarts. From Sir Nicholas (a.ka., Nearly-Headless Nick --don't ask, unless you want to get grossed out...), to the Bloody Baron (even grosser, come to think of it...), to the jolly Fat Friar, to a young girl ghost in the girls' bathroom named Moaning Mertle.

The ghosts were all gloomy and dour --just as you might expect ghosts to be. Unless you met Peeves, that is. Peeves was the Hogwarts' poltergeist. Think of him like this:

If all the ghosts were at a party, they would all be looking sad and gloomly, and looking like they were at someone's wake. Which, for a group like that, they just might be. And in the middle of all this gloom and doom, Peeves would be the only one in a brightly-colored party hat, and twirling around a noisemaker, going, "WHOOHOO! PAR-TAY!"

Seriously. That is what Peeves is like.

No wonder it takes the Bloody Baron to keep him under control.

By dinner time, Goldy was tired and ready for bed. She sat opposite of Spike.

"Well, what's on the agenda for tomorrow?"

"Yeah. I fly with fairy wings, not broomsticks."

"You'll have a crash course, then."

"That's what I'm afraid of!"

Harry came by on the way to his seat.

"Excited about tomorrow?" he asked, his smile quite charming.

"Sure," Goldy manged to say, hiding her nervousness.

"Okay," he smiled and continued on to his seat.

"Probaly a Pokemon" she said looking at the pocket where the package had stayed all day "Either a freashly caught one by Daddy or one of Grandma's"

Once again a thought struck Goldy

"If it's your Grandma's wouldn't it be old?" she questioned

Spike grinned at her

"No,thanks to her magic,they're not" Spike said

The people nearby had gone quiet,they had been too busy with their own coversations to hear the first part of Goldy's and Spike's,but once it turned towards Pokemon,everyone was listening,eager to hear what they were talking about.

"I wonder how Pokemon would take to living in the wizarding world?" Goldy thought aloud. "Not many of them are magic-based, if any."

"They'd get along pretty well, I think," Spike answered.

"We'd have to get premission to bring them into the school," the gold-clad girl reminded her friend.

"True," the other replied. "But I'm sure Dumbledore would allow it."

"Some, I bet, Hagrid would love to have. Like Charizard; Gyrados; Moltres;..."

"Any of the big and dangerous ones..." Spike grinned.

"Yep! Oh! But Ron wouldn't care for Spinarak or Ariados!"

"Why...?" Spike began. Then, she remembered. "Oh. Yeah. Spiders."

"Right."

When he heard this, Ron made a face that clearly showed that he was suddenly not looking forward to meeting these creatures the girls called, "Pokemon".

"Don't worry, Ron," Spike said reasurringly. "They're not as frightening as you might think. There has never been any cases of Pokemon eatting people."

"Other insects, yes," Goldy put in, "but no people."

That did not seem to relax Ron any, though.

"Maybe you'd better take Ron back to Gryfinndor House," Spike suggested. "He's looking a little pale..."

"Yes," Harry replied. "We'd better." He took one arm, and Hermione took the other. Together, they steered their rather unnerved friend toward the door.

"We'll be up soon, Harry," Goldy said as they left. Somehow, it sounded a bit --well, a bit homey, the way she said it. Was there something going on between the golden girl and the young wizard? If so --what?

A little gossip in the halls of Hogwarts. How much of it will be true, and how much of it will be made up? And if Rita Skeeter gets ahold of it...

Spike and Goldy finished their dinner and headed back to Gryffindor Tower,they gave the password to the Fat Lady,and entered the Common Room.They found Harry,Hermione,and the pale-faced Ron sitting in the armchairs nearest the fire.

Hermione was hovering over a piece of parchment that had the words S.P.E.W. on it.

Spew? Spike thought

As if reading her mind the pale-faced Ron gave her a look that clearly said she didn't want to know.

Spew?She had heard that name somewhere before.Ah yes!Hermione's doomed crusade to save the House Elves.

They didn't use House Elves our servents in the Other Realm,not even the royal family used them,you did things yourself or got friends to help there.If you asked kindly one of the Celestial Creatures would gladly help you.

Spike wandered over to them and sat down in one of the armchairs,Hermione soon put away her paper and pulled out her homework,a pointed look at the boys made them begrudgingly pull out theirs as well.

Each one had a report to do,the topic was demons(I don't know which class to put it for).She scanned their papers,Ron had Snake Demons,a rather simple species,Harry had Wolf Demons,a little more complex as she knew one back in feudal Japan,and Hermione had Dog Demons.

Having one for a father,knowing a pure bred one with a heart of ice back in feudal Japan,knowing a half human one caught between two loves also in feudal Japan,and being half Dog Demon herself, gave her quite the expertese on the species.

While Spike offered her help to Hermione, Goldy flopped into a big, cushiony chair right in front of the fireplace, and continimplating the betrothal. Harry will have to be told sometime.

One good thing that would come out of the marriage, she knew, was that Harry would finally get away from those Durseys. They did not appreciate him anyway, always putting him down, telling him that he's a freak. They had hated him from the start, mistreated him almost from the cradle. Why they had not been reported for child abuse, she had no idea!

Because if any such report did occur, she thought, Dursey would fix it so that everything would be in order --even go so far as threatening Harry into not revealing anything was amiss-- and the athorities would never know the difference.

She was so lost in thought that she did not notice that the object of her thoughts was sitting right across from her untill he spoke.

"Hullo," Harry smiled. She could almost see the lightning bolt-shaped scar on his forehead glow in the firelight.

"Hi," she smiled, blushing. She had to admit, he was quite handsome. If the marriage had to take place as their parents had planned, then she would not really mind.

"Nervous about tomorrow?" he asked.

"Yeah..." she admitted. "I'm not really used to flying on items like brooms."

"How do you fly?"

"I've never really thought about it," she answered. "I just do. I have two forms. I one form, I just fly. In another, I have wings. No, not like Spikes. They're fairy wings. But this other form is part of something special, and I can't transform into it unless it's necessary."

"Oh. Well, flying on a broom should be easy for you. And Oliver and I will be there. You may even get a chance to catch the Golden Snitch."

"Oh, won't that be fun!" she laughed.

Harry grinned back at her.

"Yes" Goldy answered

"Yeah,well,I'm not the one who rode a broom ever since they were young" Goldy said as Spike's smile got even bigger

It was true.Spike had ridden on a broomstick ever since she was young,being a witch and being emersed in magic from the beginning, she was quite good at it.

"Ya know" Spike started "You worry too much,Goldster"
