requited, however you spell it, means that the love is returned. Unrequited love is when you love someone, but they dont love you back.

I snape does redeem himself, it should only be at the end of the last book IMO

I would certainly hope so. I'd hate to see Snape turn all sappy and all before the end of the book. It's wouldn't be any fun if he did. I'd have to start to like him then.

Ok, this is the first time I've ever posted anything so be kind. I talked to "baty" at Media Play about a week ago and she told me about this site. I agree with her that Snape going soft before the last book would ruin the way people see his character. He's the mean guy you wanted hate but feel bad b/c of his rough childhood and the fact he is one of the "good guys". Anyways thats all I got.

I would bring out the argument in most ways Snape has already redeemed himself. He has already saved harrys life, and has done great things for the Order. I just hope this continues, and he does not get forced back over to the other side.

Welcome to the boards seriouslysirius!!! So glad you could join us. :D

I will agree with you all the way. I can't see Snape going soft at this point. And as far as Snape redeeming himself? <_< He hasn't proven a thing to me. He was very arrogant in OOTP with Harry. He is an adult and should put his grievances aside with Harry.

And as far as saving Harry's life. If he were on V's side, I think V would be extremely angry if anyone else put Harry down but himself. So Snape would only protect Harry so V could do the dirty work. Look at the fake Mad Eye Moody. He could have done Harry in any time he wanted, but didn't so V could have at him. But of course that's just my opinion. ;)

but remember that jk said once in an interview not to get too attached to snape... that means to me two things: 1-No Swearing go back to voldies side or 2- he'll die, maybe he will die trying to save harry or something, dunno...

Im not so sure about Snape now, especially after Chapter ? Snape's Worst Memory.

From books 1-4 he seemed and looked the intolerable pratt and such an evil and twisted teacher to Harry and everyone hated his guts - including the readers. He hated Harry so much and without reason. That was until OotP and we find out how much of a bully Sirius, James, Lupin and Wormtail were. Sure, Lupin wasn't heavily involved likewise Wormtail, but nevertheless they took no action against their friends. Because he was greasy haired, slimey and insanely interested in Dark Arts - they had no right to treat him like they did.

There's also something more to Snape's history that i am sure will be revealed soon (no, not the vampire conspiracy) and it will be very, very groundbreaking.

OK, so you are saying Snape is still a death eater? There are lots of reasons why I would disagree but I have already listed them many times. so I'll give up.

Good point, I alwasy though he would be "forced" to go back to correct side.
...where was that quote....
QUOTE
We Slytherins are brave, yes, but not stupid. For instance, given the choice, we will always choose to save our own necks.'

This is how I see snape getting forced back onto the other side. (when voldemort finds out about snape spying for the Order)

If anythin I am certain, its that in his earlier years, he was a death eater, and not someone I would like in the least.

My earlier post - i think i may have given people the wrong impression. No way is it excusable for what he did, Death Eater activities etc. What i did mean was i now could see why he treated Harry so horribly. There was a reason. There are reasons behind everything and until that chapter - we hardly had any.

Actually what JK said about Snape was this...

QUOTE
Stephen Fry (heavily paraphrased):
Then there's characters like Snape, who are bad but there is a certain ambiguity about him. You can't quite decide because there's something quite sad about him. Something very lonely. We're slowly (after five books) getting the idea that maybe he is not so bad after all.

JK Rowling:
Yes, but you shouldn't think he's too nice. Let me just say that. It is worth keeping an eye on old Severus Snape, definitely.

:toofunny: Poor MELIMUSH! I figured out what must have happened right away.

One must be careful with punctuation!

don't have anything new to say about Snapey-poo. I like the fact that he is someone on the "good side " who Harry doesn't like. I hope this ambiguity stays thru-out the series, because it is reality. There are sometimes people we don't like or get along with as well, but they are not truly EVIL either. ( there was this one girl in college...well never mind!)

Yeh Snape always seems to be in a league of his own. I reckon Harry will pass his Potions OWL with flying colours so JK will make him take potions for the remainder of the books,
