DD and Voldemort can do wandless magic because they are more powerful than most of the other wizards....that's what I think at least...just like the older wizards can do spells without speaking them, using only there wands...it is because they are more powerful than kids

ay? i thought they used wands, I recall Harry not useing his wand a couple of times, but JK said that Witches and Wizards can do spells that dont require much concentration with out their wands.

I dont recall a term, and i know the books inside out! :bigeyes:

I understand the fact that they are much more powerfull than the kids. But this is sort of like a power thing. Like what is the name of the power for wizards who can do wandless magic. I understand that DD and Voldemort are really powerfull. No the term is not in the HP books. It was in one of the serperate books. Like history of magic. A book like that. You can by those ooks in Barnes and Nobles and other stores. I just cant remember what book it was in. And what that skill is called to be able to do wandless magic! :badptr: :badptr: :badptr: :badptr:

It may have been an unofficial book you read it in.

According to another forum where there is a whole thread dedicated to the subject of Elemental Magic;
Magid - is a term used for a very powerful wizard that can preform magic without a wand.
Hope that helps.

I dont think JKR has ever stated that these particular wizards have a name. But being the fantasy Live Role Player that I am, the terms often used are Mind Mages, Wizards of the Mind, and so on..... not to be confused with Mental Mages or Mental Magic which is a particular branch that has mental effects. Such would be the Imperius Curse or anything that has a mental effect. The fact remains that Dumbledore is very much capable of performing quite complicated spells without the use of a wand. Apparating is just one. The little trick he does when he turns and with a wirl of his cape he dissappears and reappears behind Voldemort. The animagus is able to turn into an animal without the use of a wand. There are several examples..... Also there might be magic which is ritual based and take along time to perform. The spell Voldemort uses to gain his body back is a ritual. Certain things done in a certain way. The right ingredients added in the right order followed by a rite. This is a ritual.... the Fidelius Charm sounds alot like a ritual also.
