Well personally, I think she should start a new series. I think that in the seventh book if Harry and Ginny end up back together then it would be cool if she wrote a series about there kid and his/her adventures. You know, she should make a "series to the series" if you will. biggrin.gif
8Ball
yeah that would be an interesting idea, i think it would also be cool if she allowed some crossovers that would be TIGHT dont you think?
1HPgirl
What do you mean?
8Ball
a crossover is when, a character from one story is borrowed for a while and put into a different story. i think some author did that with the merlin series.
1HPgirl
Oh ok. So who would you want JK to crossover?
8Ball
yeah, i dont think she would actually do it, but i think it would be cool if she let some authors have some characters crossover. it doesnt have to be harry, but just one good character that could be represented from the HP series.
1HPgirl
That would be pretty intresting (yet highly unlikely). But it would even be cool if she just started a whole new series that has nothing whatsoever to do with Harry Potter.
8Ball
yeah that would be cool too, if she could make another super mega bestselling series i think she would be a genius! but it might still contain some elements of harry potter i think
1HPgirl
Yeah, its really hard to believe that one person could contain so much creativness that she could make another series with totally different elements. What if she like made a book from Neville Longbottoms percpective. LOL like what if she called it "Neville" and it was all about his life in Hogwarts and everything from his point of view...that would be kind of neat.

"creativity"

whoa if she wrote a book from neville's perspective then she would have to completely wewrite all 7 books!
thats alotta work!
1HPgirl
Yeah but it would be sooooo cool! She would rewrite them all from Nevilles shoes!!!
8Ball
yeah that would be cool but thihnk again, we would already know the outcome of the story so there's nothing we're really missing out on you know what i mean?

its still a cool idea though
1HPgirl
True that.
iareaj
you know what? there's an author that already did that. Orson scott card wrote a book called "ender's game", and then he wrote "ender's shadow". in this new one he wrote the story of one of the characters of the first book. then, there're two series: the one where the main character is ender, and this other one, where the main character is Bean.
It'd be nice another series of HP books, after the war against voldemort, but with no harry as the main character, but another person...

and whatever she decides to write, i'll read it!

Even the babies books she will be writing? smile.gif

My preferance is that Ginny and Harry end up back together in the end ((or to other people from the story [Hermy and Ron, etc.])) and they get married and have a kid and she writes a series about their child's adventures in Hogwarts. That would be cool. 7 NEW BOOKS!!! But I really don't care what she writes next as long as she does it!!!
Zola231
I hope she sells alot of the books like, Quidditch throught the ages and so on.
1HPgirl
That would be sweet!
potter_freak24
I think she should write a book about Dumbledore and about before Harry was born. With the rise of Voldemort and the death eaters.

I also think that if Harry lives (and I really hope so) and gets married and has a child. That a book for his child and another rise of evil with some of the leftover deatheaters and their childern(because you know there will be some).
TheBoyWhoLived
Well i personally think she should have a break, she's been writing these books for over a decade now and have time with her family. That's what i think happy.gif
riddlemethis326
I don't think that she could write about Harry and Ginny's kid for one main reason: Harry's going to die!!! I love him, but his time is near it's end as he draws nearer to defeating the greatest sorcerer in the world!
1HPgirl
But if he does live it would be neat-o.....idea basher sad.gif ...Just kidding, LOL.
Hermione@13
I don't think that Harry will die! Neville will die for him! Okay, that sounded kind of harsh. laughing.gif

Anyway, I also think she should get a break and then write more fantastic books!

You know what I think? I think that after the Hp series, she's going to retire, either right away or like a year or two later, I had a dream about it, she said she wasn't short on anything in th cashflow department, and that, she just want's to settle down, and spend the rest of her days with her kids, and husband. Then something about, her wanting to maybe direct movies, and kind of duet, the last few films.

It's all set to happen after the last book is done, and a few of the faster readers are almost, or entirely finished with the book, and told her what they thought about it, it would be her closure, you cold say, to the hysteria that's been going on in her life for the past decade or however long this whole thing's been in the process. and She's going to move somewhere in the U.K., some where rustic, like the country or something, and she's going to spend the rest of her life there. Though she thinks about making another story, she doesn't, or she does, but it wasn't a hit, or it just didn't come close to the HP series, so it didn't have many fans, and actually, only a few of the people that said they'de read any books that came out from her, after the HP series, really didn't, or just read it because they thought they owed miss Rowling something for her years of labor, over our entertainment.....

This was seriously a dream I had, and I just remembered it now, or my mind was withholding it from me until now, or I just didn't feel it was the right time until now.
It's kind of deep, reminds me of a movie, a movie about a Bipolar ex-author who, in her time was great, but after her time, became sort of a has-been, and found out that, her "15 minutes of fame," so to speak, was just a pre-apology from some great force, from beyond, trying to tell her that, "Your life's not gunna be a cup of tea, in your later years, so maybe I'll give it a little boost."

Oh and she gets a divorce from her husband, the one she's married to now, that's why she moves of course, with soul (custody spelling?) of her kids. She never re-marry's, or does she ever find love again, except the love she has for her children- Woa! stop, alright, I'm done with revealing the reest of this dream, though it's almost done, because, with typing this, I've decided to write a book, and this is the ending of the last chapter, with a little revising of course, and so that this doesn't end up happening to our friend JK, I'll give her credit for the book, and she'll be my inspiration....

dragon.gif gandalf.gif

Please spell out ALL your words! Thanks...
My Pensieve
Well I have to say that was some dream, but JK has said she is working on other books, and I think once a writer always a writer, and if they love writing, like JK does, I think she'll always be working on projects. But nice dream anyway. rolleyes.gif
hpfan69
for me it would depend on how she ended the series (book 7). i do want her to give more information on harry's father and family. it would be nice to find out more on what happened to them. we all know that they are dead even lily's parents, but how did they die?? that is what i would like to know.
it doesn't seem that he, harry, will get any information from his teachers or even his aunt, to which now she is giving away that she knows more than she letting on, even her husband vern didn't expect she knew alot more about the magical world.
Hermione@13
Harry's other relatives might have died from natural causes, like old age. closedeyes.gif Ahhh...what a peaceful death in my mind and the one I hope Harry will have.
Oh and btw, I think that Harry and Ginny will end up getting married once the Dark Lord is defeated, but I don't think that Jo will make a book about it just because she has made it clear that the seventh book is most likely the last, once-and-for-all, goodbye book.
enara
I agree I don't think that she will make more books relating to Harry Potter anymore.
And I am kind of glad, I mean I love the books they are some of the best ones ever but there is like and ending point. And if she continued on to long than I think it would get old. I think that the next books she writes will be fabulous (childrens or not) But that it is time for it to end.
I mean I would hate it if the story didn't end with the 7th book.
Hermione@13
Exactly, we've been used to the idea of seven books. Period. I think that Jo will settle down and them come up again after maybe a month or two and start writing again! smile.gif I know, it's a pretty short break, but it makes sense. If you're a writer and you go too long without writing you could go into insanity! At least, that's what I feel with ice skating. If I go through a month without ice skating then I start dancing like a freak around the house!

Anyway, back to Jo.
Mathias_thechosenone2010
Hmm, I'm not so sure about the dream myself, but lets not rule out that thought, shall we?

It's interesting, you guys assume she'll get back into writing so soon after the long HP Madness, that has plagued, and gifted her for a decade.

I would bet more then likely, it will be a long time after this, she starts writing again, well perhaps not writing again, but, actually, finishing, and putting out, a new piece of literature.

Though now that I look at the whole sceem of things, maybe you guys, and gals, are indeed right?

Who knows, especi dragon.gif gandalf.gif ally with Jo.... wink.gif
My Pensieve
I believe she said she has already started writing another book. Maybe it's one she started awhile ago, not sure. WWW would probably have more info then me since she is a walking encyclopaedia! wink.gif
Hermione@13
If she is indeed working on another book already then hopefully she'll just have a month break and continue writing! party009.gif Well, I don't think DH will come out soon, so let's not get our hopes up.
enara
Yes, she is working on more childrens books right?
Anyway I think that of course she will continue writing, like hermione@11 said, maybe after a break but writing is something she likes to do, and I don't think anything will stop her.
Hermione@13
Hmmmmm...another children's book? I hope that it doesn't become a horrible movie like what happened to PoA. mad.gif Well, knowing Jo...it has to be something good as a book! I don't think it's going to be another fiction book, though because she's said herself that she thinks it might be a shame to Harry's memory if she writes another fantasy.
hpfan69
well the only thing i hope that doesn't happen is that this last book will be disapointing. i guess we all have an idea of how we would like the book to end, but when ever it comes to something ending like a tv series or even a movie series and book, it just never ends right with me. it always ends really stupid or up in the air as if there is no real ending to the story and questions will not be answered. i guess that is what i am afraid of with this last book, what happen to questions. well, i hope i am making sense.

well catch you all later!
enara
I know what you mean! I hate it when stories end with open endings. But that is just me, I know some people like it.
Hermione@13
I know. I was looking at the last sentence of HBP the first time I read it and was looking through the pages for more. Oh well, I don't think Jo would leave us hanging, though.
