This may go into the either as well but I had to tell some one who might understand.

I have gone into one of the other HP sites and done the sort thing. (Big Baby Cry!!!!) They put me into Slytherin! Me! A Snake Lover!!
The Description allong makes me crazy! I'm not crazy about power or control. I do have empathy for all humankind, even the Malfoys of the world. I'm like Hermione in that I believe that you are loyal because it is the right thing to do, however, just because you are loyal does not mean you see mistakes coming and stay silent like Draco.

While it may have been too much to ask that I be given the privillege going into Gyffindor (truthfully I never saw that one either), I thought that I might at least been given the choice of Ravenclaw or Huffinpuff. I have great respect for Slytherins, I am just not one of them. Or am I ? Reading my answers and threads do you think I am ?

Hey there! Remember, though, that Slytherin's are also known for being very clever as well. As Dumbledore said of Slytherins, they are clever, resourceful, determined, and have "a certain disregard for the rules." So, it's not all bad to be a Slytherin. It just so happens that they're given a bad reputation because so many bad wizards come from their house. People think that only bad people come from Slytherin and that's not true - look at Wormtail/Peter Pettigrew, who was a Gryffindor (how did that happen?).

Oh and Regulus was a Slytherin....I mean he was kinda evil....but then he became good. LOL whitewolf..any redeption stories deep in your past

I'm doing thesis work; which means I'm reading hard text. I love it, but I'm not as young as I use to be. Clever, resourceful: (I don't always follow the rules, but I like them): I still think of Slytherins has those who love power over anything else, and that's just not me. I guess because it was a profile test and the results were that while I'm most like Hermione in character, I fit better in Slytherin because of sensibility. (Wouldn't that make me Snape!) Oh well, it could be worse; I could have flunked out all together. LOL.

Well, if this makes you like Snape, then I highly respect you. Snape, due to his parents (imho), was a bit insecure and made some wrong choices and had to live with those choices (and in the end died for them) for the rest of his life. He went through hell in a hand basket to make up for those choices, and, in the end, did the right thing.

I like Snape a lot - what a diverse and misunderstood character, but I get this feeling for him, like I love him, but am afraid to touch him because he might shatter. Hard to explain.

I agree that I would rather be Snape than a Malfoy. Snape is one of those characters that you see hope in because they seem to know the right thing to do but their execution lacks sincerity. Redemption is what we see in Snape. We want to believe that despite all the damage his parents and the world did, in the end he understood and got it right. My problem with the Snapes of the world is that they "do" at some level "get it", but they still reject the essence of goodness. He was an ally yes; and while his behavior towards the grown-ups has its own history, Knowing what he knows and doing what he did, his behavior towards the children, especially Harry and Nevelle, was just plain wrong!

However, I would like to think that despite my faults, people see good in me. I guess in that way we are all like Snape.
