An article in hellomagazine.com mentions a visit to Hollywood made by Imelda Staunton, known to Harry Potter fans as "Professor Umbridge" in the film version of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. The actress accompanied Dame Judi Dench and Dame Eileen Atkins to an entertainment industry event to promote their film Cranford, which will be seen on US PBS-TV Masterpiece next Sunday, May 4. Michael Gambon (Professor Dumbledore) will also appear in the film.
As previously reported, My Boy Jack with Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) will be seen on PBS Masterpiece in the US on Sunday, April 20. But this Sunday, April 13, it will be Harry Potter star, Timothy Spall (Wormtail) who will shine on Masterpiece in A Room With View with his son, Rafe Spall. In May, Imelda Staunton (Professor Umbridge) will be seen in Cranford.
Stephen Fry, who does the UK version of the Harry Potter audio books, celebrated his 50th birthday last weekend. J.K. Rowling, along with some of the Harry Potter stars, helped him to celebrate by joining in on the televised event Stephen Fry 50 Not Out.
The stars who joined Jo include Imelda Staunton (Professor Umbridge), Emma Thompson (Professor Trelawney), David Tennant (Barty Crouch, Jr.), Kenneth Branagh (Professor Lockhart), and Rick Mayall (Peeves).

Fashion Wire Daily stated that the film's evil protagonist Imelda Staunton, who deserves an Oscar nomination for her delicious portrayal of Professor Delores Umbridge.
MSNBC stated that Staunton might earn another Academy nod for this very different yet equally satisfying performance. If so, she’d be the first actor in the series to earn such recognition. You can’t help missing this monster when she’s not around.

Imelda Staunton, who portrays Professor Umbridge in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, spoke with SciFi about her role. She stated that she was pleased to find that her part was serious and demanding, and not silly. "I sort of thought, 'Well, it'll be a lot of wand pointing, and it'll be a lot of effects and a bit of silliness.' But actually it was a very serious piece of work."
As we told you previously, a new clip was aired on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. It includes a portion of Umbridge's famous speech when she was introduced at Hogwarts.

Imelda Staunton, who has the role of Professor Delores Umbridge in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, recently spoke with Times Online about her role in the fifth Harry Potter film, and some of her other projects. Here's what she had to say about Phoenix:
"Dolores is a vision in pink taffeta but a nasty piece of work," Staunton says. "At first I thought, 'Ooh, a Harry Potter, that’ll be fun'. But at the film's heart is real tragedy, and I found myself having four months of intense acting, followed by occasional wand-waving for the next six."
