TimesOnline posted a list of ‘The Best British Film Actresses Of All Time’. Harry Potter stars Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange) and Dame Maggie Smith (Professor McGonagall) were featured on the list:

Maggie Smith and Timothy Spall Doing Children's Fantasy
|
Dame Maggie Smith (Professor McGonagall in the Harry Potter films) and Timothy Spall (Wormtail/Peter Pettigrew) are currently in in Dorset filming a new children's fantasy called From Time to Time. The film, which is based off of Lucy Bonnet's series of books, The Children of Green Knowe, is being directed by Julian Fellowes. The actual filming will take place beginning today at Athelhampton House near Dorchester and will last for nearly three-and-a-half weeks. Other areas scheduled for filming include St Mary's Church in Puddletown and the square, the stables at Came House, and Julian's home at Stafford House.
There had been some delays in shooting due to Dame Smith's recent battle with breast cancer, however, everything is back on track now that she's is doing better. |

According to the Daily Telegraph, Dame Maggie Smith, who is known to Harry Potter fans as the strict but fair Minerva McGonagall, was diagnosed with breast cancer. According to that same article, she underwent surgery and chemotherapy as a precaution. "The prognosis looks good," said a friend. "The last thing she wants to do is to make a fuss about it." |

Dan Radcliffe and Maggie Smith Win WOS Awards
|
Dan Radcliffe won two Theatregoers' Choice Awards from Whatsonstage.com for his stage role in Equus. The first was the DEWYNTERS London Newcomer of the Year and the second for the AKA Theatre Event of the Year for his publicity shots with the play. When accepting, Dan described his role in Equus as one of the greatest experiences of his life. "I'm truly delighted and thank everyone so much for voting for me," He said. "'Equus' is a tremendous and thought-provoking play and I'm so proud and honoured to have been a part of this incredible production."
Dame Maggie Smith (Professor McGonagall) also won the FRANCO’S Best Actress in a Play award for her stage role in The Lady from Dubuque at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.
