Steve over at Collider had a chance to speak with Harry Potter producer David Heyman about Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows while at the Yes Man premiere.
In the interview, David said he had just went to London and met with screenwriter Steve Kloves and director David Yates and went over the script for both parts of the film. He talked about how they were able to find a theme for each half and that each one will be filmed slightly different from the other so there will be a bit of a difference cinematically.
He also noted that they're still debating on where to make the break between the two films. He did say that they have a feel for when the break will occur and that the first half won't end with an action packed scene because he felt that this wouldn't really fit, but rather it will be 'emotional and truthful'.
He also talked a bit about Half-Blood Prince, which he says that the characters have gone to an ever deeper level of depth and sophistication. He also said that the running length of the film is 2.5 hours!
hmm..i wonder if they're even bringing dobby back in this one..they sure like to leave him out of things

I agree with jujubee in thinking that both scenes would make great ending points. How awesome a shot would it be if it ended with a closeup of Dobbys headstone and the epitath written upon it "Here lies Dobby a free Elf" and they pan back to show Harry and all of them looking at his grave with Shell Cottage and the ocean in the background!!!

Wahoo! 2.5 hours for HBP! Yay!!
I thought that when Dobby died would be a great place to end the first movie, but the more I think about it, ending it when Ron leaves would be pretty emotional. That's a good spot.

I cannot wait for the Deathly Hallows movie!! That is my favorite book, and I am interested to see where they cut the book in half. I think it should be either right after Ron leaves or comes back, or after Hermione rescues Harry from Gordric's Hollow.
