"Voldemort" May Also Be Broadway Bound
|
We had previously reported on Ralph Fiennes'(Lord Voldemort) run in the stage play God of Carnage by Yasmina Reza. Per this article from Playbill, the play will close as scheduled. However, it will go to Broadway like Dan Radcliffe's Equus, but for the next season, which I believe is the Fall 2009 (Equus begins this September). I believe it will be with the same cast and the date will be in 2009 because the article states that later this year Fiennes will do Oedipus (which should be after his engagement with Gate/Beckett in New York) at the National Theatre.
I swear it's hard to keep track of that man's schedule. :lolol: |

Video: Fiennes' Stage Door Appearance
|
We previously reported that Ralph Fiennes (Lord Voldemort) is currently in the stage production of God of Carnage by Yasmina Reza at London's Gieguld Theater in the West End.
Thanks to Emma-Watson.net and Ralph Fiennes Corner, a nice video of Mr. Fiennes' appearance at the stage door is available on YouTube or you can view it here.
After the play's run ends on June 14, Mr. Fiennes will start work on Gate/Beckett for New York's Lincoln Center Festival which we also previously reported here.
Update: A photo from the play with Mr. Fiennes and Janet McTeer, who was recently seen on PBS in Sense and Sensibility as Mrs. Dashwood, can be seen in our photo gallery. Click here |

Another Theater Engagement For Fiennes
|
Ralph Fiennes, who played "Lord Voldemort" in the past two Harry Potter films, has agreed to perform in Gate/Beckett at New York's Lincoln Center Festival this summer on July 16-27. It is a repertory of three one man works by Samuel Beckett, presented by the Gate Theater of Dublin. Liam Neeson and Barry McGovern will also appear in the repertory.
Fiennes will perform in Beckett's First Love, directed by Michael Colgan. It is a harsh story about a man who becomes homeless upon his father's death and meets a woman on a park bench.
Neeson will perform in Eh Joe; and McGovern will be seen in I'll Go On. And then, on the afternoon of July 26 at 2:00pm, all three men will read selections from Beckett's poetry and prose at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College in Manhattan, where Gate/Beckett will be seen.

Fiennes Also On Stage
|
Ralph Fiennes, who portrayed Lord Voldemort in the past two Harry Potter films, will be in God of Carnage by Yasmina Reza. Opening night for this stage production will be at the Gielgud Theater in London on March 25, 2008.
Fiennes will play Alain, a lawyer and father of an 11 year old boy who punched another boy in the school playground. After the incident, the victim's parents (played by Janet McTeer and Ken Stott) invite Alain and his wife Annette (played by Tamsin Greig) to their home to discuss the matter. Believe it or not, it is a comedy about how two couples meet up to discuss the unruly behavior of their children. Will it be a calm, rationale debate or will it be a hysterical night of name calling?

Ralph Fiennes Not in Half-Blood Prince
|
Ralph Fiennes, who portrayed Lord Voldemort in the fourth and fifth Harry Potter films, recently spoke with Ain't It Cool News. During the interview, he was asked if he was in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. He stated that he was not. He said, as we previously told you, that his nephew Hero Fiennes Tiffin is in the film as young Tom Riddle. When Ralph was asked whether he has yet signed on for the seventh film, Deathly Hallows, he said he hasn't yet. |
