A theatrical trailer for The Bling Ring has been released.  Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) stars in the film portraying a young American girl who wants to be part of the Hollywood glamour and will do nearly anything to get there.  It’s based loosely on the Bling Ring robberies that took place in Southern California.

“She’s superficial, materialistic, vain, amoral. She’s all of these things and I realized that I hated her,” said Emma to British GQ about her character, Nikki.

She took the role because she felt the character portrayed some of the qualities that she’s opposed to.  ”When I read the script and I realized that essentially it was a meditation on fame and what it’s become to our society, I had to do it. The character is everything that I felt strongly against.” she said.

The film hits theatres June 14th.

Emma Watson will be part of this year’s MTV Movie Awards.  The theme for the awards is The Walking Dead and the new video released shows many celebrities becoming zombies, including Emma Watson.

Once again, Emma Watson is among the nominees for the 2013 MTV Movie Awards.  This time,  it’s not for her work in the Harry Potter films, but her work in The Perks of Being a Wallflower.  She has been nominated in the following categories:  Best Female Performance, Best Kiss,  and Best Musical Moment.

This year will be the first time Watson has been nominated in the Best Musical Moment category.  In 2011, she won the award in the other two categories as “Hermione” in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.

Well, it’s been a little while since I’ve done a Potter Bolt, but I think the news coming out today about some of our favorite Harry Potter stars deems a Bolt necessary.

First off, Dan Radcliffe (Harry Potter) is in final negotiations for the role of Igor in a new rendition of Frankenstein, says Variety. The film is expected to start filming this fall, after his run on the West End in London with the play Cripple of Irishmaan.

Gary Oldman (Sirius Black) will have the lead role in the new film Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.  The film, where Oldman will be the leader of the human colony, is set 15 years after Rise of the Planet of the Apes, in which Harry Potter co-star Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) starred in.

Speaking of Felton… he’s signed on for the Wizard World St. Louis Comic Con. This con takes place March 22-24. Get more info here.

UPDATE: It is being reported that Emma Watson is looking at signing on for the title  role in Dinsey’s live action film of Cinderella!  Cate Blanchett is already signed on to play the role of the evil step-mother. Production is set to start this fall in London.

The People’s Choice Awards took place last night and two of the four Harry Potter related nominations became awards.

Emma Watson won in the category of  Best Dramatic Movie Actress for her role in Perks of Being a Wallflower.

Also, Perks of Being a Wallflower won for Favorite Dramatic Movie.

The first of the other two nominations was for Emma Thompson (Professor Trelawney), who was nominated for Favorite Movie Icon.  The award went to Meryl Streep.

The second was for Potterheads in the category of Favorite Movie Fan Following.  Unfortunately that award went to the Twihards.

The nominees for the 2013 People’s Choice Awards were announced today and a few Harry Potter-related nominations were included.

The first is for Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) who was nominated for Favorite Dramatic Move Actress.  Her latest film, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, was also nominated for Favorite Dramatic Film.

And the very best fans in the world – POTTERHEADS – were nominated for Favorite Movie Fan Following.

Maggie Smith (Professor McGonagall) was nominated for Favorite Movie Icon.

We previously reported that Emma Watson (Hermione in the Harry Potter films) would be on the front cover of the US and UK editions of Glamour magazine’s October issue to promote her latest film The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Thanks to one of our HPP fans, we have scans of the interview with Emma Watson from the US edition of the magazine in our photo gallery.

In the interview, Watson mentions how her character Sam in Perks is quite a different school girl from Hermione, other than the fact that Sam is an American:

Glamour: Your character, Sam, is rebellious–she experiments with drugs and has quite a sexual history.  I’ve read that in real life, you’re pretty straitlaced.

EW: Oh yes, Sam’s real.  She has insecurities and a past.  She’s very human, and that’s what drew me to play her.  There are just so many teenage roles that don’t have very much to do with what it’s actually like to be a teenager.

Watson confessed that she did cry a lot upon seeing herself on-screen in Perks during her first view of the film because “It was a pretty emotional experience!” Yet, she did have the stamina to persuade studio executives to fund the film, even though they were reluctant to do so due to “the difficult subject matter” in the story.

“It felt very empowering to be able to get something made that I really believed in.”

The actress also confirms that she is in the middle of filming Noah with Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly.  And she admits to being “obsessed” with Lena Dunham, the star and creator of HBO’s Girls.

I like the “Five Things” list which is five things she can do now that she is no longer filming the Harry Potter series and the five things she can’t do.  One of the five things she can do is:  “Find time to watch really bad TV with my family.” One of the five things she can’t do is “Yell Latin at people”.

Also, there are quite a few interesting photos of Watson in the article.  She is actually wearing cat ears in one of them, which seems appropriate for the upcoming October holiday of  Halloween.

Today we have quite a few tidbits on what the Harry Potter actors are up to.

First, a new poster for Alan Rickman’s (Severus Snape) new project, Gambit, is now online.  Gambit, which also stars Cameron Diaz, Stanley Tucci, and Colin Firth, is a remake of the original film from 1966.  Alan Rickman stars as Lionel Shahbandar, who is essentially a bossy boss.  You can see the poster here.  The film is expected to be in theatres sometime in the winter of 2013.

Dan Radcliffe’s (Harry Potter) co-star in Kill Your Darlings, Jack Huston, spoke with MTV regarding Dan’s portrayal of poet Allen Ginsberg, stating that people will be surprised by his performance.

A new trailer for Emma Watson’s (Hermione Granger) newest film, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, is now online.  The film will be in theatres in just a few weeks, on September 20, 2012.

An update has been posted on Tom Felton’s (Draco Malfoy) newest project, Fangs of War, stating that principal photography begins November 5, 2012.  Filming will take place in Toronto.

Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) will be starring in a new Sky series called Sinbad.  A new clip is now online.

Emma Watson (Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films)  has taken a break from filming Noah in Iceland and returned to the United States to promote her latest film, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, which hits theatres September 20, 2012.  Last night she appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman.  During her interview, she talked about her experience in Iceland, Brown University, Harry Potter, Perks, and many other things.  You can see her entire video below.
